  • Research

We are currently NOT researching anything.

We have aquired Monarchy, Currency, Construction, and Monotheism in a very rapid time by purchasing them, mostly with GPT deals.

Currently we are paying legoland 10gpt, and we will be paying that amount for @15 turns (I need to double check the save when it arrives).

We will soon be paying Vox 8gpt for @20 turns.

For 14-15 turns we will be paying out 18gpt, which will signifigantly limit our ability to research anything.

We need to decide: If we choose something to research, we need to be relatively sure that no one else is working on it, and if someone else does and beats us to it, we need to finish it on our own so as to not go further in debt.

OR we simply wait out 15 more turns of max profits, buy a few techs for non-gpt deals, and then start on a new project at max research when our debts clear up.

    Choices:

Research Feudalism or Engineering at as much as we can handle or 10%, whichever makes more sense.

OR don't research, stockpile cash, rush build projects, upgrade units, etc, until we finish paying our debts.

    Your thoughts?

Stockpile would be good, but war can break out soon, and upgrading units could Save our skin in such a situation.

I agree. Stockpiling is the only way.

Engineering at 10% or even see if we can spare a city worker for a scientist and research it at max turns.

I'd put my vote in for Feudalism, as we may very well need Pikemen should war break out. We can still stockpile gold while researching it, just not quite as much.

At the moment we don't seem to have much choice. We are only earning 1gpt at 100% tax. So until the situation changes we will have to rely on buying techs from the other civs. But I like the señor Tamali idea of using one city worker as a scientist to get Engineering in 40 turns, and we should start this right now.

Feudalism yes. Though I do not believe a war to be imminent at all. We are strongest on our entire continent!

I say we aim at Systine, and let others sell feudalism.

We need Feudalism before anyone gets Chivalry, but I would hope we would press for a trade for it, and get some other tech. Engineering I like.
