  • OOC: A Plea to Our Team

Inactivity is starting to really show. We've lost many of our originally active members. As the game moves on we will need more activity and more participation, as I cannot run everything myself.

I ask that we get back into our Roleplaying. We have drifted away from it, becoming too practical, and focusing too much on the mechanics of the game. Perhaps we should back away from our drive to "win" and start focusing more on just having fun.

I'd like to get everyone involved to some degree. I feel bad for PlagueRat, LzPrst, and Pikesfan who's units don't really need instructions. I'd like to get them involved in the game in some new ways. Please offer any suggestions, if you have them.

Ambassadors, please contact your nations immediately on your own. Don't feel you have to wait for my instructions. If we get a new tech, start marketing it. If you get a good idea, drop me a quick PM, and then let's start on it. We blew the chance to get currency from Vox because I stalled on it, wanting to find out more information. Vox got Polytheism from GoW instead of us. I need to be more active in Diplomacy, but I'm doing so many other things that I tend to let the diplomacy slide, and I need the Ambassadors to keep on top of things for me.

Governors, city management and WF management are not my strong points, so please keep on top of your cities and ask me if you need saves or if you have questions about your city's progress. I will let you run your cities as you want with little interferance, so long as you keep on top of it and keep talking to each other so that the needs of the nation are met.

Everyone else, let's Roleplay more. Post more in the In Character threads, let's get some plots and stories going, get our Stone of Spain out, and get our activity levels up again!

My Lord, this sounds like a decentralization policy.

And eh my Lord, can you perhaps provide some inspiration on stories? Tales about the royal family are always nice to tell and hear...

      Okay, okay, I'm back.

If being in the chat was a sign of activeness, I'd be one of the most active members of the team right after you, Lord Togas

However, I'll try to post here more often too.

Also if possible I'll see where I can stir up an RP mess, seeing that hte Calamari-Mitchell family rivalry is basically milked for all it's worth save a small reference here and there.

(Micromanaging hte mechanics of the game is bad, but the mechanics of the RP too??? )

        Togas,

IMHO, there are too many games at the same time : SPDG, ISDG, InterteamDG, ....

Personally, I'm playing ISDG (with Grenouille), Roleplay and several PBEM games.... it's too much !!

I think it's a bit crazy to do all these games at once, and when I hear that Apolyton will start a new SPDG, I wonder if there is still enough room for the RL in our brains ....

          [OOC]

Now that there will be more DG's the PBEM games are no longer needed to get experience. the New DG's will be quite more challenging, especially the Citystates Game.

I fully support this plea. I will do my best to take care of the less important matters of the team so our despot can be free to pay attention to the most important ones.

I'm inactive, but not gone. I'll be back home at the end of the month, barring unforeseen events.

I've been lurking a bit, and have been pleased to see the buildup of Spain's military. Once the Iron city is built and swordsmen upgrades done, we'll be on our way to building an offensive force to conquer the Arab capital - a good goal, don't you think?

The Calamari rivalry is over with Mitchell...because Mitchell isn't selling any more. However...plots must be developed further...

Any job I can do, if I can afford the time, I shall do for you, Milord Togas.

Dang, Mitchell. And I thought I didn't want to send Gastronome to kill you anymore.

I may be on my own here, but it is the heavy RP aspect that has stopped me from participating as much as I would have liked. When I signed up I knew there would be RP (otherwise I would have joined another team!), but I expected it to be at the same level as at times in the SPDG. The sheer volume of it drains me at times, and it becomes difficult to keep track of exactly what is happening in the game.

I guess I cannot ask for any change, but please, for those of us without the energy to concoct stories (not all of us can be as creative as History Guy!) or simply unable to keep up with the sheer amount of stuff in here, make sure there is some quarter given to ensuring we know at a glance how the game is progressing. Thanks.

I'm still lurking at least once a day to keep track of the situation, but I don't have enough time to really contribute at the moment due to the ISDG and a lot of work in RL However I hope I'll have more time available soon for the RP team

I was busy yesterday between after work stuff and watches bush's speach etc. I will try to keep an eye on things and post etc. I do think that RL war will slow things related to all 'poly demogames.

Sorry - I just can't get on line often enough.....

As soon as I can, I'll be up to some RP'ing as well as some constructive advice (well in my mind at least).
