Pamplona: Builds Settler this turn. Drops to size 3. Set the queue to build a Spearman. Please, micromanage WFs accordingly:
Code:#2, shielded grassland #7, cattle bonus #8, cattle bonus
[edit]: I've amended the orders to accomodate one of Pamplona's garrisons leaving to support the Iron City settler.Last edited by ruby_maser; March 15, 2003, 19:15."The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. Ruby -- do you want to build a spear first, then a settler? Or should we just use the "slave watcher" spearman to protect the new city?
As per Astrologix's advice, Madrid will begin construction of a horseman this turn.
I have a question: Should we change Madrid's WF back to growth?
Currently there is no food stored up. If we switch the WF back to growth Madrid produces 8 sheilds per turn, but stores up 3 food per turn and grows in 7 turns. With Madrid at 10 sheilds and 0 growth it makes horsemen in 3 turns, spears in 2, warriors in 1. With Madrid in growth mode it adds 1 turn to each of these.
Once Madrid grows in 7 turns it will then have a production of 10 again, and it will be at size 6. Can anyone tell me if size 6 or 7 is the magic number for our commerce bonus and for our city defense?

Togas,
I am a bit worried with the ND announcement that a wessel will come to take Arne back home. I would place two spearmen at the coastal tiles NW and W of the warrior tile near the iron (the warrior itself on the iron mountain and a spearman on the workers tile). So if a ship comes, we can prevent any landing unit to occupie those vital tiles.
To do that, we can take two spear from Santiago and move one Saragossa spear to Santiago. So we will keep 3 spear in each city.
Hope you agree with this idea

I agree with General Astrologix suggestion about using a couple of spears to watch our western coasts and make sure that ND galleys don't come to us.
In adition we should place a galey to watch our coast ASAP, but this goes far beyong this turn orders."Never trust a man who puts your profit before his own profit." - Grand Nagus Zek, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, episode 11

The Commercial and Defense bonuses occurs once it reaches size 7. I am worried about the "vessel" comment also, since it is obvious that they can get him home without one. However, I would be more concerned with them simply trying to occupy the Iron square, as opposed to trying to launch an attack by sea, as they currently have only one coastal city, which was only build recently, so at that point they probably don't even have one boat yet.Citizen of the Apolyton team in the ISDG
