  • status of our relation with ND?

What is going on with ND?

I am guessing the scout on the mountain west of Pamplona is going to stay there in order to watch our troop movements. They have done some serious scouting along our borders recently. Marlowa's only benefit would be that it can be a staging point for an invasion, and our diplomatic channels have fallen silent.

Is there not something we should be doing to attempt to keep relations normalized for as long as possible?

I think we could describe it as "the calm before the storm". Officially we are the best friends (With flash animation included) but internally they are probably timing when and where attack, which in any case won't be before 8 turns, just because I think they really are interested to appear as the good guys.

Not only is that scout going to spot troop movements, it is potentially able to pillage our roads to the rest of cow valley.

I think we should start hinting to ND and everone who will listen that we are aware of their overtones. Silence is not the way. If the world gets wind of this posturing, ND's reputation will be at stake.

Are we going to at least attempt to renew the Non-Aggression Pact?

I have posted instructions for History Guy to renew the Non-Agg pact, but I may have to take care of it myself.

The silence doesn't help things at all. We need to get them talking again.

can an scout pillage? I thought that could only be done by units with attack higher than 0!

Scouts most definately can pillage in reg Civ3 and I see no reason for them not doing so in PtW.
I used to be a builder. That was before I played Civ III

In that case we should politely invite Arnie to move away from his present position.

I say we send scouts North - so we can see there troop movement. Send two warriors. We should know what ND looks like and get an idea of how many troops they have.

I say we stop sending PMs to them, too, until they respond to us. They are good at this game we need to take it up a notch, before we become their Czechoslovakia.

I am still concerned that ND and GoW are conspiring together. I do not like the way they both went after Lux together and I have seen no intel or innuendo that they may possibly fight each other in the future. To me this possibility of a nothern alliance is our greatest threat.

                    Still no answer from ND?

This is a clear sign... of the worst!
