I shall share some info about the GOW team.....
We used our capitals warrior to scout some fogged area behind us....leaving the city undefended for a few rounds.
Lux just happened to choose this time to invade our borders. We had no way of pop rushing a defender, or rushing our warrior back. Lux had us ... we were screwed.
But our negotiators came through and saved the day.

This has happened to me more than once on other PBEM games.

No more than 1 warrior/scout for exploration. The next one is for defense.
I am very curious to find out what kind of agreement they made - sounds like Lux had them by the neck and could have asked for anything.

If Lux had taken GoW capital they would have earned a terribly bad reputation, and nothing they could do would be able to change it. Lux simply couldn't take GoW's city because otherwise all the other civs would have declared them war forever.

In a game with humans, the reputation is not the same concept than against the AI. Gow had a bad rep before doing anything bad, and Lego has a good one before doing anything good. And that can, and certainly will, change according the circomstances; an example is the sharp rise in rep of Gow after every chat, and quick decline after every message !
      Statistical anomaly.
