  • A Letter from the (Acting) Editor of the Stone of Spain

Greetings, fellow Spanish chaps, and chapettes.

Having read Milord Togas King's words on the subject of the newspaper, I have decided to resurrect the ancient publication, the Stone of Spain, using...paper!!!! Well, rather papyrus. No more clumsy lumps of stone for our readers.

Anyhow, as you may have noticed, Senor Olstorne, who is the editor, vanished without a trace awhile back, and we haven't seen him since. The search continues for the poor fellow, while Spain moves on to great glory.

As the co-owner of Iberian Delights, I suppose I am now in temporary control of the Stone of Spain, at least until Petro comes back.

If possible, I should like to recruit some assistance in this magnimous task, for it is not by Calamari alone that this rag is to be writ, I can assure ye. So if you care about getting the news, fair and balanced, then sign up as a journalist for the Stone of Spain today!!!

Hernan de History Guy Calamari the Younger
    Editor, Acting
    Empire growing,
    Pleasures flowing,
Fortune smiles and so should you.

I, Juan Scriblos Meneñdez de Nuñez can help.
I helped pioneer writing on my uncles pioneering trip to saragossa and I have great ideas as to what to write about and how to write it. We could write about the adventures of our soldiers warring against the barbarians, and our explorers finding fantasic new lands (though I doubt there is any land greater than Spain) fictious tales of adventures and... well, we'll take that as we get there, for now, get me some of that papyrus I've been hearing about. I have a great sanitational idea as well...

            OK, here we go.

I have accepted an article on strategy from our good friend, the Watcher. I will also accept the articles of any of you lot, if you can get them done for me.

The subjects we are now interested in are:

~ An article on the present size of our army, and the campaigns to attack the barbarians and find them. Senor Polaris, my old friend and fellow squidderman, I give this one to you.

~ An article on the Spanish slave trade, and the importance of workers, and what he have accomplished with them, this one is the Slave Master's!

~ Our plans for expansion and etc. If Senor Nunez would like to tackle this one, it's his.

            Other subjects to go after:

~ The international scene. What is the latest knews in the growing northeast crisis? The shadow of war looms over Neu Demogyptica and Lux Invicta.

~ The word on commercial efforts here and abroad.

~ From the lab...what we have learned, and are going to learn...

~ Updates on the political scene. For example, the current trial, which seems to be heading to it's conclusion, and etc.

Let me know if you guys are interested, otherwise, I can handle most of these.

Just to let you know...three articles done. Message from the editor, the Watcher's article, and the one on diplomatic affairs. We are now are one and one half pages, so please do continue sending things in. We can accept four or so more articles. Perhaps five, though it may be pushing.

I want someone to do a WAR ARTICLE and act like a neutral field correspondent for the Lux vs ND war. Your article should highlights the horrors and tragedy of war and mention the Spanish attempts to avert war.

Whomever wants to write this article, talk to me about it further.

Milord Togas King, I am preparing just such an article now, actually. It's called 'All we're saying is Give Peace a Chance, Or, Who will push the little red brick button?' And it seems, today, that the answer has been given...Lux Invicta.

[By dingy-bang-thunder! The ENTER key is working again! AMAZING!]

Now, listen up, the deadline is tommorow morning, otherwise your article must, sadly, wait for next week's edition. As of now, we have two articles by the Watcher, and three by the Editor...(me). Senor Oliver is working on one, and I believe so is Senor Polaris Winterius. Therefore, if they come in, we've got ourselves a first issue! [grrr...dang this ENTER key...it really is acting screwy!]
