  • City Growth vs Spreadsheet predictions

Recently, I've found out something interesting about the shield accumulation when a city grows. I had based that shreadsheet calculations on the fact that the shields were added before the food was added. This does not seem to be the case.

This is the apparent sequence of events in a city on a turn that the city grows:
    1) Add food surpluss to the food box
    2) City grows in size - set new worker (or all workers) to the default position.
    3) add Shields for this new WF to the accumulated amount for the build.

I am endevoring to implement this into the spreadsheets, but because of the variences between the optimal WF and the possible default WF, this is becoming hard to implement. The only solution that I can see is to make sure that you examine the spreadsheet & WF assignments at the time that the city will grow and correct the additional amounts that would possibly be added at that time.

So keep a watch for it.

Personal note: this would explain some of the problems that I had encounted while CP/DM in the SPDG. There were a few times when an Item either wasn't built on the turn that I had anticipated or had much less shields to be completed towards the end of a build. There were even times that I had thought that a city should have grown on one turn, but it didn't until the next. I had always assumed that it was an error on my part, but it is apparently was from the wrong assumptions.

Yes, I know. Good thing you took this up.
That's why I use to check on every city as they grow.
To micromanage the WF according to the plan I have.

OBS: I suspect this can be done in Pamplona now,
to speed up the settler production.
My words are backed with hard coconuts.

Give me some credit. Ain't no speeding up the settler or I would have sped up the settler.
