Why do you guys think we got the PM system then?
Chat rooms are designed for noisy n:n communication.
PM for 1:1 communication. I rest my case...

        i respect you man

but i think this is a stupid point

Chats are more efficient than PM's. if two dips think that a chat will get a deal done in 5 minutes instead of 5 hours, they do that

they dont need the traffic. the team should respect that, not make noise just cuz THEY CAN

I respect you too man, but I partially disagree.
Chats are only more efficient if both are online at the same time and they have created a privat channel for those two.

The point made is not stupid: It encourages diplomats to use PMs, or even email if they like to. I think PM is better, cause you can have an email notification so if you are not online you get the message anyway. It must be up to the diplomat, so the two diplos can do as they please. No problem if they do feel like chatting 1:1...

A word from a retired Diplomat and Mediator.

Of course one has to view the opposing sides interests and opinions in such events as to whether the one can be chosen over the other which of course demands careful and deliberate consideration and introspection.
It is clear that both opportunities grant advantages and/or disadvantages as the form of the one is considerably different from that of the other.
Furthermore a limitation to one of the options in favor of the other might in time prove to cause more problems as the form required might be that which has been potentially excluded. A reasonable choice might be to, after considerable investigation and research, agree to confirm the choice of form for a specific time or moment when it is advantegous and performable.
Thus I conclude that we have made headway in this very important and possibly crucial stage of actions and exchange of words.
May I now implore the parties involved to accept the versatility and limitations of such a decision as should be made by the mutual consent of all involved parties and possibly those that it will effect also.

I thank you for your gracious gift of precious and valuable moments as I am positive that you are all men of considerable importance and as such, value though regret, the necessary spending of the everfluctuating and ceaseless progression of what we all desire to be graced with more of as it is the measurement of our influence and activities in this great forum that we call our place in the playground of the gods.

            Ta-ta!

(ps this can be supplied to any discussion where a choice must be made )
