    Plan #1: Temple/Worker/Settler...

1590.....3.....Next?.........0...........0......1/3/0 Settler done; Start next Queue

At this point the borders expand from the Temple

    Totals...
Total Gold netted for Treasury = 20
Total Gold netted for Research = 67
    Total Gold overall = 87
(Don't Forget the temple will cost 1 gold though)

    Produced...
    2 settlers
    1 worker
Temple (allowed city to expand to size 4 w/o disorder)

    Some notes...
-- I believe the years are correct from when they change to 25 year increments, but don't hold me to it.
--All these calculations assume no more tile improvements aside from the completion of the road the slaves are currently working on and no slider changes.
--WF is typical for maximizing growth. If I recall Señor Tamali's WF chart number system....
Size 2, city works WF#7 and #8 (the cow bonuses)
Size 3, city works WF#2, #7, and #8 (due to corruption issues it makes more sense to use the shielded grassland rather than the forest. The shields are the same, but growth is maximized)
Size 4, city works WF#2, #6, #7, #8 (basically what is it currently working)

    Plan #2: Worker/Temple/Settler...

    Year / Size / Queue / Shields / Food / Gold / Notes

    2230.....4.....Settler........21........0......1/3/0
    2190.....4.........".............26........4......1/3/0
    2150.....2.....Worker........0..........8......1/2/0

    1615.....5........."............25........0.......2/6/0
1590.....3.....Next?.........0..........2.......1/5/0 Settler done; Start next Queue
    ..............................................5
    ..............................................10

    Totals...
Total Gold netted for Treasury = 20 (no change)
Total Gold netted for Research = 69
Total Gold overall = 89 (if I got the corruption rates right )
(Don't Forget the temple will cost 1 gold though)

    Produced...
    1 settlers
1 worker (becomes available 7 turns sooner in this example)
Temple (timed for right when the city needs it at size 4)

    Some notes...
--We will need a second garrison in the city while it hovers at size 5 for a turn
--Simply reverses the order of the worker and the temple. We get the worker seven turns faster, and the borders do not expand until 1515 BC.
Size 5, city works WF#2, #3, #6, #7, and #8 (Gold Mountain is worked for one turn at size 5 and then immediately for one turn at size 3 to re-sync the growth rate.

      Plan #3: Settler/Spearman/Settler...

In response to the growing threat of ND and GoW intrusion into cow valley, I have revised the forecast to get more cities up and running as soon as possible.

This is the plan I will back if no one can gives a good reason otherwise. With ND's scout and GoW's warriors milling around, it is only a matter of time now until they begin to threaten our lands.

This plan requires us to keep the conscripts in the city to prevent civil disorder at size 4.

      Year / Size / Queue / Shields / Food / Gold / Notes

      2230.....4.....Settler.......21........0.......1/3/0
      2190.....4........."............26........4.......1/3/0

      1515.....4.........".............29........16....1/4/0
1490.....3.....Next............0..........0.....1/3/0 Settler done; start Next queue

      Totals...
Total Gold netted for Treasury = 24
Total Gold netted for Research = 77
      Total Gold overall = 101 (-19 to negate extra turns) = 82
(Don't Forget the temple will cost 1 gold though. This plan is projected 4 turns longer to show thru settler's completion)

      Produced...
      2 settlers
      1 spearman

      Some notes...

I like #3 the best as we need Pamplona pumping out settlers, but I suspect that #1 or #2 might be better in the longer-term because having a temple will allow for fluctuation between pops 3 and 5 (or 4 and 6) rather than pops 1 and 3 (or 2 and 4).

That said, it's critical enough to get TWO CITIES out of Pamplona ASAP to cover city sites #2 and #3 that it might very well be worth doing your plan #3.

Since Madrid will be producing an extra 2 spearmen under the plan we've chosen for it, we'll even have some extra defense for those new cities

        This could work out...

I agree. Once we get those border cities established I'm going to feel a WHOLE lot better about our Cow Valley settlements, as I think we all are.
