  • The scout ...

... in 3100BC was 6 tiles right north of Madrid.

He could be in 2950BC on the tile SW of the silk (NE of Pamplona), that is at 3 turns of the hut.

That is something that worries me since the 3000 turnchat...
But if they went straight for it then we would be sure they have cheated (no one could go straight for a goody hut just out of luck...)

What I meant is that the scout could be as close as that. But the farthest he could be is 5 turns (unless he went home directly from the last spot we saw him).

Well, at best, we are looking at 8 turns to pop it safely. We could pop it in a minimum of 6 with the warrior Pamplona is currently working on, but that is a risky. I'd be willing to risk it, but what about everyone else?

Are you sure that it can be there in 5 turns?
The shortest way I found was 8 turns. He'll be slowed down at lot by the jungle, and a scout has just 2 normal movement points (he doesn't get any other movement bonus like the explorer or the conquistador).

[ooc]If he's going to pop it before we can, I'd say: take the risk. As a saying in my language say's (I'll try to translate it well): Never shot is always miss: if one doesn't try and doesn't want to take risks, he doesn't gain fortune either.[ooc]

You are certainly right, but even the best case (for us) is seven turns (right through the jungle), and there probably are shorter ways.

I agree with ruby_master its worth the risk. We have yet to see a barbarian. They must be set to sedentary which reduces the risk of ever seeing one.
