  • The Lost Civs

It seems that Legoland is on another continent from the minimap and evidence of bodies of water.

Vox has stated that they have been moving south for a while, and we have not seen them. The Madrid Expedition continues north, with coastline to the east. Either Vox started in the north pole, east of Lux, or they are different continent (could it be the same one as Legoland?)

Gathering Storm has not been seen by anyone, to my knowledge. From what we know they could be below us, southwest, or on the same continent as Lego and/or Vox.

With us, GoW, ND, and Lux on the same continent, being the first to make contact with these three "Lost Civs" could be very valuable. Are we interested in being the one to profit from this? Obviously, Map Making is needed, and harbour cities on either side of the continent. Do we have other tech plans that preclude gunning for Map Making? We do have a monopoly on Alphabet amongst the known civs on our continent, we could stall trading it whilst researching Writing.

    Thoughts?

Certainly it would be best to get to Legoland at the earliest possible convenience, but I think that Vox Controli is to the north, and on the same continent, as has been evidenced, I think, by others.

dejon I came to this same conclusion, that we are not on the same continent as Legoland. My assumption is the GS is with them. If Lego is not on our continent, then we are the sole owner of the Alphabet - thus a value that should now rocket - Lego is the other.

As for VC, My assumption was they were West of GS, but perhaps its on the other continent. Time will tell.

I think we are all holding out the hope that our continent is connected to Legoland's at either a point on the north-western corner, or south-western corner. Legoland's ambassador Nimiz has reported to me that they have found a long peninsula to the north with which they plan to found a city as a gateway/fortress to protect their southern city sites. They are also, allegedly, scouting to the south-east, into the jungle in hopes of finding a land route to us.

If there is no land route, one of our western cities will endevour to send a ship to meet them. But that move is several months away. For now, we shall see what the Magyars uncover.

Yes, I think that building of things to explore the great waters should be of highest priority. Besides, the spirits grow weary of communicating with the Lego spirits. The lego spirits build massive palaces in the afterlife, and frankly its rather embarrasing for our humble spirits to be visiting such places. They wish we would find some way of communication without them.

The building of a city on the great water then has to have an even higher priority

Building a coastal city at the spot #2, and then building the Great Lighthouse there, will allow us the chances to sail to the east to find the Legoland's continent.

I agree, the research of Writing is a high priority.

We should find a Christophe Columbus candidate among our people to lead our fleet to the "Indian" continent

Legoland must be contacted as soon as possible, at any cost. (Well, at a lot of costs. :P )

All other goals are secondary; however:

To contact Legoland, we need a galley -OR- more explorers. We'll probably need a galley as I see the expansion phase being brutal and all of our land routes to Legoland cut off, if there are any.

BTW, if there is only an isthmus to another good-size landmass like our own, we need to make sure it does not fall into enemy hands. That way we can rule communications and get first dibs on any more land, aside from the puny natives.
