    3100 B.C. Report

    - Neu Demogyptica contacted us again and now offers both Masonry and Pottery. Using Señor Calamari's message to ND as a guide, I took the 29 gold OFF of the offer and added Alphabet to the offer. I sent the offer back to them WITHOUT accepting it (so that Togas, when he returns, may be the final judge of the acceptability of giving away Alphabet for Masonry and Pottery). Personally, I think the deal is worth it.

    - T.E.G. goes south
    - Magyars go south
    - Madrid Expedition goes north

    - Settler heads west (now 1 away from city site, which is to the northwest

    WHAT THE *&$%#@!!
Madrid was on cows again and still building a warrior... this time it should't matter that much because we ALREADY delayed growth by a turn from the first turn of cows rather than wheat (and this just completes the job by losing another 2 food) Losing the trade, however, is more annoying... somehow it didn't get switched last turn and I'm very confused as to how this could happen (I was the one doing last turn and I'm SURE I switched it...)

I HAVE SWITCHED MADRID TO WHEAT AND TEMPLE. PLEASE CHECK MADRID NEXT TURN TO SEE IF IT'S ON WHEAT OR COWS AND ON WARRIOR OR TEMPLE. IF MADRID IS STILL BUILDING A WARRIOR NEXT TURN, WE WILL NEED TO COMPLAIN PUBLICLY ABOUT THE BUG

    - Slider tweaked down to 50%. We gain +1 gold and Bronze Working will be done next turn (2 turns early - someone must have just discovered it).

    --------------------------

I will need to change my timetable for Madrid due to getting Bronze Working early and the extra turn of cows. Please consult the new one next turn if you're working the save. Thank You.

    --------------------------

I'll be posting screenshots here in a minute or so.

The Screen Shot of Madrid that you had taken the last turn had shown that the WF was on the Wheat. Either this is some bug or the Auto Govenor is on and making the change for you or you accidentally hit the City in the Zoom screen (WF default) before you had closed it.

Still no one on the west. Interesting...

The thing about the workforce no changing the tile working is a bad one. Hope the next turn works...

Sirs, I have received vital correspondence from Picahulu, Honorable Ambassador from the Gracious Arabs, and that same letter is posted for the public in the Diplomatic Hut, downtown Madrid, palace district. In the letter you will find that they want for the secrets of Masonry and Pottery our secret of Alphabet and 15 tonnes of our gold. Please respond to this immediately therein, as I should like to be able to respond in the coming day, or so.

[OOC] If we see at the editor values, Masonry is rated 40, Pottery 20 and Alphabet 50. Since Masonry is owned by 5 other civs, its current rate must be around 20 (btw, I don't remember the formula). [/OOC]

This means that the deal proposed by señor Clemente is widely OK.

How so? Alphabet = 50 vs. (Masonry at 20 and Pottery at 20) = 40. Plus, they want 15 gold on top of that. Its sounds to me like we would be getting screwed, and they will techwhore it for further profit to our loss.

I say stall for time. There is more to be gained by waiting. This team has 2 cities, more techs, and more contacts.... Why would we add to their lead?

I also think that we ourselves should declare 15 tonnes a bad price, and I think to back ourselves up we should present those editor values as well. We must not be cheated on our first trade.

Fully agree, GoW is enroute to meet our warrior, and Lux is in the area where we are meeting so we should equal ND's total contacts shortly. Even if they maintain their lead over all three of us the resentment at their lead would make Lux and GoW easy allies so I don't see how we have anything to lose from waiting.

Agreed with ruby_master and the stall for time tactic -- we can make a much more profitable deal once we've met another civ or two.
