  • OOC: who might be called to War

This is a for real Question, no RP. I know of one person on the GoW Team who we might miss if Hostilities break out with Iraq.

With the US mobilizing for war & England most likely flowing suite, who here might have to leave us for a long time?

Same comment I had in the Civ3DG to the same issue:

Everyone, please note that not everyone who has a potential deployment to any specific operation would be permitted to talk about it on a forum (1) with people beyond his close family, (2) with foreign citizens, (3) and especially with people over the internet.

So while it would be nice to have people tell us if there's reason to expect that they won't be around for months, we should also just know that not all of them may be able to tell us that.

(P.S. I shouldn't be affected because I'm not working for Uncle Sam - yet...)

Unless they call me before I come back to Geneva I don't think I will be called to war. In theory I'm in reserve but they would have to send first all the professional soldiers to war, and since Spain usually only sends a bunch of soldiers in this situations this is very unlikely. Also if I'm not wrong international students are very low in the draft list.

On the other hand I supose that the war is in preparation since several moths ago, so the most probable thing is that all soldiers likely to be mobilized were mobilized long time ago. At least for the first phase of the war. Of course if things got worst we never know. This morning I read some news about North Corea I don't like...

              Well,

I probably wouldn't be affected unless I'm working for one of the places under good old Uncle Sam that would end up doing overtime here in the D.C. area due to this (I'm currently applying... we'll see).

I can't really say more than that. I don't know for sure where I'll be working in a few months and I don't know FOR SURE whether there will be a war in the near future (even the people I know in rather high places who would have reason to know claim they aren't sure either - a lot is hinging on this whole stupid inspections mess at the moment).

Really? Oh I always thought that the inspections thing was only to make this burocrats at the UN happy, but that Hussein have moved their nuclear weapons (or pre-weapons) very far from the inspector noses. So I always thought that the only unanswered question about the war was not if but when.

Oh well... Anyway this is not the right forum to talk about this things.
