  • Short Vacation, My Instructions

I will be away from Friday afternoon - Sunday evening. Dejon and Arnelos are in charge but I expect that the whole team can handle things while I'm away. If there's any major disputes Dejon has final say.

Goals: Get us contact with GoW and Lux. T.E.G. and the Madrid Expedition should consider those ultimate goals as they continue to explore.

Decide on a final settling spot for Pampalona.

Debate what tech to research next. Nimitz tells me that Legoland is working on Pottery.

Begin discussions about how to handle the Neu Dem, GoW, Lux triangle. GoW seems to be campaigning us for a military alliance or at least a tech boycott.

Keep Neu Dem hanging on, don't give them Alphabet without pushing for the best possible deal first, AND without talking to GoW seriously about a tech embargo.

I can be reached via email this weekend if necessary.

That's interesting. I had not considered that Neu Dem currently has contact with us, GoW, and Lux. That puts them in a very powerful position.

    Can we trust GoW, though?

Have a nice vacation, señor Togas!

Señor Thrumble, my opinion about GoW is that being them the "impopular" civ they are, Neu Dem and Lux are probably gathering together to fight them. That's why they can be trusted for a while.

I have sent the letter, as instructed personally by my liege, to the ambassador of the Arabians, Picahulu. A copy is available in the Diplomacy Hut [Thread].

I have, as specified, mentioned the ill-will of the Warmongers, and have stated that we would do all we can to help them if necessary, and would like a treaty and alliance at the earliest possible occasion.

I also agree that they are allied with Lux Invicta. If they have as many technologies as they say, it makes sense. I think they are gearing up to go after the Warmongers, and I believe we should also so as not to miss out on the Imperial Expansion. Spain needs to assert itself, and if we do not we may be looked on as the simple, unsophisticated ones with no power. We must become better allies than Lux Invicta or Neu Demogyptica.
