    Explorers moved:
TEG moves west -- still no end to Cow Valley

Madrid moves north -- found the end of the jungle! And some decent ground for cities not far from Madrid.

Magyars move west -- more spices, and that river valley is looking VERY promising.

Lux raised by 1. We were making 2 gpt now we make 1 gpt but no disorder in Madrid.

    Settler pops out NEXT TURN.

Bronze in 5 (may change after settler build)

    No foreigners or barbarians sighted.

I am an idiot. I forgot to turn on Cntr-G AGAIN. Will not forget next time. I promise.

The most recent views (that I have made) will always be at this site. You can bookmark it if you wish.

Hmmm, this is strange. The 10% should only make the on content happy, but there is 1 Happy and 2 content. It should be 1 Happy, 1 Content & 1 Unhappy. We probibly didn't need to have the Lux slider set at all...

Oh Great Togas, thank you for helping to pay for the entertainent that my wandering Troop helps to provide to our great City. We can now buy some much needed new costumes and other things that we have desparately needed.

I was about to feel that I would soon die, a pennyless person and not beable to provide for my family after my demise.

    THank you, oh Great Lord!

Interesting, it looks like only Legopolis and us have a size 3 capital. So we and our best friends seem to have the better starting positions for REX, good news

When I opened the save, all three people in madrid were content, but my understanding from my many advisors and wisemen was that the overcrowding situation would lead to disorder next turn (one would turn unhappy), haulting our settler production. So to be safe, I hired the Tamali family to entertain the people for a few years.

This was only a short term situation. Next turn, unfortunately, the Tamali family will have to go back to performing at taverns and festivals to earn their keep.

          Togas,

As I warned in the Civ3DG, I had to attend a funeral all day yesterday... and today is X-mas Even and tomorrow is X-mas. Now I hope we don't get the save back until at least Thursday, but in the event we do, I won't be around to help with the management of Madrid.

When I get back, however (and I get a copy of the save, please), I plan to do a rather extensive look at the save and plan out Madrid for a good long time to come (to have such a plan approved by yourself, of course).

          Thanks.

              Togas,

You are correct about how Madrid will APPEAR to be just fine on the turn it becomes 3 pop, but will the next turn errupt into civil dissorder unless entertainment, luxuries, or policing forces are somehow obtained to quell the potential unrest.... I really wish the game would actually TELL US that we have an unhappiness problem rather than making it look like everything is just fine at Pop 3 until the turn problems start

              Oh well...

I'm going to post long-term plans for Madrid in another thread.
