  • Orders for the Explorers

Now that we have several expeditions searching the land around Madrid, we need to ensure that they are lead by the finest commanders in our midst.

Senor PlagueRat leads the "T.E.G." group.

I will now assign Senor Pikesfan to lead the Magyar Group, and to ensure that these natives remain true to their pledge to serve Spain.

I need to appoint a leader for the Madrid Expedition. I would ask Senor Dejon to do this, but I know that with the recent tragedy in his family, this may be a poor time to ask him to leave the city.

I need a volunteer to step forward to lead the 3rd expedition.

I ask that all expedition commanders state their directions in this thread. If you fail to guide your expedition, I will see to it that orders are sent. I may also send specific orders for your expedition to follow, if the people of Spain deem it necessary to further serach a new land.

I need to make sure my ideas of directions are the same a s everyone else’s.

For example, if we look at the current (3550) Madrid turn,
N of Madrid is a hill
    NE is the Madrid Expedition
    E is the cow
    SE is a small forest
S is the forest on the other side of the river with a deer
SW is the hill on the other side of the river
    W is a grassland
    NW is a hill

      3450 (i.e. 1 turn after 3500)

The Magyars will go SW to the next hill (S being the silk and W being a desert).

Great Lord Togas, if Señor Dejon can't make it, I hereby steps forward to lead the Madrid Expedition towards the northern lands. Madrid may be the most beautiful city in the world, but an adventurer like me needs to leave the comfort of the city and conquer new worlds for the glory of España.

            3400 (i.e. 2 turns after 3500)

It looks as if there are hills both S and SW of the next turn’s hill.

If there are two hills, go S.
If there is only one hill, go to it, whether it is S or SW.
If there are no hills, go S.

My general orders will be to remain within sight of the sea and determine what is the shape of the land we are on.

The Magyars believe that in the sea there are spirits which give them strength, and so if they go to a place where they can’t see it, they will sicken and die. That also explains why they never attacked our city: we were too far inland.

We already did 3500BC, and according to GhenghisFarb, 3450BC is in Togas' email.

I edited my years, now that I know that 3450 is being played as I write this. Could someone post a list of the upcoming turn years? I don’t want to say “this turn, next turn” because it isn’t clear enough.

I plan on sending TEG -- West, and Madrid -- North. Will follow Pikesfan's suggestion for Magyar.

                        Any comments?

                            Olá dictatõre...

After scibbling this 3400BC map an obelisk we put up here on top of Sierra Panthera, (as we just named the peak),
we can see that we will avoid entering this jungle once again,
if we head our noses to the west. So that's good!
