Complaints Against Senor Ninot

Grand Despot, I apologize to disturb you, but I bring before you a case of the utmost urgency, which possibly shows corruption in the governorship. Please, sir, I beg you to hear me out. You were mete and just to my father, and now I pray you be good to myself but answering my complaints with a trial against the accused.

The charges I put forth are 1) Threats against my life, and 2) Abuse of power. The plaintiff is myself. The accused is Governor Ninot of Madrid.

On this date, he said to me, in public conversation, in front of many eyes and ears:

It would be quite unfortunate if you, like your father, had to wander off, or disapear

This is obviously a threat against my life, and an abuse of power. The man is obviously saying that I am on his hit list, and that he can easily arrange for my demise.

And then, he said after I said that I would seek justice from you, My Lord Togas,

In this town of Madrid, I'm sure you'll find support

What is shocking is that he laughed. Here is a crude image of the event:

This is an abuse of power. He is undermining you, Great Togas, by saying that he can commit the most heinous crime and escape punishment, he is saying that he holds the keys, not you, and that whatever he says goes. THIS is a shocking abuse of power that may one day culminate in insurrection, and must be faced now.

Please, my lord, review the case, and be fair and wise as always.

On another note, Sir, I must say that what the Senor is doing is against the principles for which you have appointed him to the task.

His duty, as mayor, is to do what is right for the good of the people, and that alone. He is not out to cook up plots against the government or to threaten the lives of members of the populace, especially tribal heads. That goes against the grain of your own decisions. He is not doing what is best for the people, he is threatening their lives. Not merely his crimes would be the result of this, but trouble for the civilization. It angers the people, and tribes might become discontent, and wish to seperate from the main body. This cannot be aloud, contentedness must be maintained, and such actions as threats against influential tribal heads cannot be tolerated.

This is of the utmost importance. Abuse of power should never be tolerated, especially not at this level.

Great one Togas, in my defense, I can not say much.

As we all know, this Calamari family has been one of trouble makers and anarchists for centuries, murdering the slaves of others. I am merely your servant, the humble Governor of Madrid. I work for the best of the city, so that it may meet your needs as well as it possibly can.

I see these accusations as an attempt to throw the city into riots. This would not be fair for anyone, and certainly not your greatness.

I ask that you dismiss the charges, and let us get on with business.

I would be warry about making claims like this against the town's governor. He has quite a bit more influence and authority than you, young Calamari.

Consider this the advice of an aging Tyrant who has grown somewhat lenient in his elder years ... don't start a fight you cannot win.

I have given Senor Ninot considerable powers over the people of this town so that he may have no burdens to his management of it. Should he determine that someone is causing a disruption in his town, I would most likely back his decision to have that person executed.

I know that your family has been through quite an ordeal. It has sparked a fire in your heart. It would be best if you agree right now to drop any sort of allegations or charges against Senor Ninot, yes? It would be best for you, don't you think? You most certainly don't want to test your fate as all parties who bring matters before me are subject to whatever decision is made.

I know you will do the right thing here.

We cannot abide such threats as those of the governor of Madrid, and if more provocation is given, we will depart for some distance land over the waves, where we can harvest our own squid in peace.

For now, however, I shall go about my business in peace. May the spirits bless all those who pass this way, and may they guide Togas in all of his decisions.

And, Senor Ninot, I have taken offense at your description of our family. The son is not to be blamed for the sins of our fathers. Being a historian, I have seen your own family's history, and I do not judge you by it, so do not judge me by it. The spotted legacy of this family has never been one of anarchy or disloyalty. We have never sought treason.

I shall do as Togas has said, and forget this affair.

Hernan, you may take offense at anything you wish. But if you are not happy with how I control this city, then I must make sure that one less peoples are unhappy with my work. I think you understand my drift.

the Ninot family has a spotless past, and has always been at the forefront of the Madrid tribe. Less can be said of your family. Much less will be rememberd of your family, should you speak ill of my ways again, as you have today.
