I welcome the invitation but my responsibilities here are far too many, and my hunting skills not as sharp as when I was a boy.

However, I would like to send my son Enero Togas to acompany you on the hunt. He is just becoming a man and has lived his life in the safety of my home. He needs to get out and experience the world. Make his first kill. Learn how to provide for himself and his people.

He will bring a fine spear and axe with him, as well as three servants to help carry anything that the hunting party kills.

The Training Ground looks like an excellent spot. I have made the necessary arrangements. The recruits shall be fed, on feast days, with squid and/or steak. I hope that this is satisfactory.

I have also sent along my second son, Bernardino, who shall be taught in the ways of war. Once he has graduated, he shall be awarded my beautiful battleaxe, the one crafted by Senor Dejon, which could slay the most powerful warrior with ease. He shall one day, I think, be one of our great generals under Dejon's guidance.

Are you sure it wasn’t the romantic smell of Godking’s hard day’s work at cleaning the Despotic chamber pots? Power must be such an aphrodisiac, if even the exposure to the least leavings of power attract maidens to go with chamber pot cleaners to the ex-Lovers’ Field.

To be fair, maybe she sensed the forthcoming appointment to the the land of Gathering Storm and wanted to be an ambassador’s wife. I hope you’re taking her with you, Godking!

[the ban because I’m not supposed to be here, consider it "What would Señor Pikesfan say if he were here?"]

[Yes, the joke is longwinded, but now that I’ve got all eternity I don’t have to worry about making them snappy ]

Poupon, come over here, will you? I have a very green recruit for you to toy with, er, I mean train.

I'd like to be able to report progress with this scrap of a man to his father by the week's end. Use all means possible to whip him into shape!

Well, I was technically incoherent at the time. There may not have been a cow for a hundred miles, but I was sure wandering through a lot of them

Well, I wasn’t very coherent. Being dead will do that do you...

                  1. Godking is the Chamber-pot Cleaner to the Despot.
                  2. Godking wanted to preserve the Lover’s Field.
                  3. Arnelos suggested using the beach instead.
                  4. Ruby_maser said that there was a smell of methane from the cows nearby.
                  5. On the main board, there were jokes about Godking having to take a bath before he goes off on his diplomatic mission.

So, the idea of my joke was that it wasn’t the smell of methane, it was a smell from the Despotic Chamber-pots, or the Cleaner, because these events took place before the Chamber-pot Cleaner was ordered to take a bath. It made sense at the time

                    Hail, Soldiers of España!

I am very excited with the training of our new spearmen, working with the bronze tipped spears and bronze shields.

Unfortunately, with my present duties to Lord Togas, I will be unable to lead this great unit. Therefore, I am looking for command volunteers. All interested may apply. The selection process has yet to be decided, but I will say that applicants should be very proficient with the new weapon and armor.

                      I present myself as candidate!
I´ve been around since the beggining, training with stones in my backpack to be strong, always here at least one hour before the training started,
I have some concepts on diminishing enemy´s morale, and on dividing the enemy in order to defeat it.
I´ve been training a kind of formation, in which we use the long bronze tipped spears to make a wall of spikes, that shall disencourage any enemy from attacking those lines, also, when we march it shall be a very compact formation!
I myself have been training with those spears as soon as I could get ´em, and I sahll fight to death if i´m appointed as commander.

I second Polaris Winterius' command of the post. He is a fine man, and good soldier. And thus, as his post may be accepted, El Squid Company will back the military, as always, and put forth more money to put our militia in the field, under Our Great Despot's approval.

Dejon, I have come down to see the demonstrations of this bronze metal, for it fascinates me.

For me? Thanks (takes up the javelin).

There, bring out the running target, Senor Expendibales. Only a slave, the man is no use to me. So, let us experiment with him, then.

                        Run, Senor!

                        (whoooosh!)

The spear has met the target admirably! Why, this is amazing! I'm buying a whole lot of these!

So, Polaris Winterius is the only volunteer eh? Either your peers have sufficient respect and/or fear of you, or you have bribed them to not challenge you.

I cannot let an important post like this go unchallenged, so I will pick a challenger. Dijon! Come over here!

This is Dijon Dejon, son of Poupon Dejon. Like his father, he is a fierce warrior, though often a little brash.

                          [whispering to Polaris]
If you best this youngling of the Dejon family, the unit command will be yours, as well as the respect of your peers. Should you lose, I will still grant you the command, but your peers will know you are easily bested and start planning your downfall.
                          [/whispering]

                          Let the challenge begin!

                          [OOC]
Nuclear Winter - please provide us with a suitable fight description. You may control the actions of the young Dijon, and decide the outcome however you like. I will warn you that should you kill the lad, you may one day have to answer to his father or brothers, if and when they return from the TEG.
                          [/OOC]

[ooc post]I am going to stipulate some statistics, write a good story , throw a dice, and post it here. Pm with dice statistics (e.g. 1 dijon dies,2 and 3 he wins, 4and 5 nuclearis wins, 6 nuclearis dies, these are jsut an example).
Remember I may put my changes to the statistics, and remember Polaris is more experient in the way of fight too!
Ah, and we might also post the combat in the public forum too!If millord aproves it , that is...
                            [rp]
Adios señores, gonna prepare for the battle!
                            [rp]
[edit]: tought of another method, we give ´em both win/loose odds, and if one looses, we throw a dice for tiring/light wound/heavy wound/death. This way things would be more interesting.[edit]
