  • How do we present our roll play to the other teams?

Several people on other teams have asked me if we intend to post a lot of our roll play in the main directory. I have responded saying that

we would like to, but i suspect much of it may be deemed of strategic importance. so we will either be keeping it all hidden; or we will be editing it, so much will probably not be understandable; or we will just be spreading disinformation to the extent that nobody will have a clue as to what we are doing, perhaps not even ourselves.
so, what are we to do? Many have shown interest, perhaps in even joining us in the RP stuff, but our security is/may be at stake here.

my character is a clairvoyant, half-witted camelherder; I don't know if that would classify as sensitive information

I hope, when you said that we would be spreading disinformation, that no one paying too close attention. I would prefer they not be certain we are lying to them when we are lying to them.

This should definately be discussed in more detail.

The way I see it, we can either talk Out of Character to the others (and I know we will), or we can talk In Character to the others in the main forum ... as if our characters are going out and publicly meeting with some of the other nations.

Perhaps in any of our official communications with the other teams we should always be in chracter. But in any of our communications "outside of the game" we should be Out of Character.

To fully RP this, we should only be OOC if we haven't met them yet. After we have had contact with then, should we be IC in a public forum.

The main game forum is to pass info and other things between teams. It's also a form of Babylon, where we all come together to meet and be generally sociable.

At least, that's how I see it.

Ok, it's not always easy to spot when someone are in-role or outof-role.

I will always be in-role, as the refugee Plutiin Plagiatos wandering in the hills.
The roleplay in it self is kinda complicated, since it consists of my own opinions blended with a certain amount of insane imagination. So the goats I herd are just my old friends and has no importance in the game. It's just to add a flavour to the game. We are supposed to win this game too!

Well, our roleplay might develop over time... e.g. my cousin is growing big now and might take care of my white-bearded friends up in the hills.

We should never speak of internal affairs to other teams.
Instead, let them get to know our imaginatory mortal characters and their relationships. So they think they know us...

            - If this becomes the rule, then there is no risk of a security breach...
