    This thread has been created to document the 2nd invasion by ND.

    Togas,

    we're discussing options right now, as it seems our plans for your relocation have changed a lot. Obviously you're not alone in this war against ND.

    Any ideas are welcome, but for the moment would it be possible not to play any definite moves before we have some discussion on this? Particularly your troops are important: there is a good chance that we need some kind of diversion on Legoland (possibly reclaiming the territory, or attacking ND), while we prepare for an invasion of Stormia or ND. Please don't move your troops before we get some more discussion on this, we don't want to be late in warning you what is happening. We would like you to be present from the start this time, instead of arriving late because we were late in communicating our plans. And there is no definite plan yet.

    If you open the save, we would certainly welcome some more information on what has happened. Which cities were attacked, which remain (none, I guess, all disbanded), do you spot Lego and things like that.

    Togas, an update.

    a bit more certain than last time, but still not fully decided yet, is that we are going to invade ND. We are trying to get into contact with both them and GoW, but so far without much luck. However, ND is at this moment about equal size in military, and has possibilities left for upgrades (they have been in mobilization for a while now). It is a bit of a battle against the odds, but that is exactly what we're aiming for.

    If we want to succeed, there are a few things we must get:

    1. First of all: We need ND to invade us on Stormia. Without this, their defences will be too good to penetrate. Of course, we'll try to sink as many of their transports as possible, but we're counting that one of the ways of doing a lot of damage is to give 1, or a couple of our cities to ND.

    2. we need diversions. And we've got a big one here: Legoland. We will be sending troops asap, but the whole point is that we can only send a couple, and must pretend we send a lot. ND is doing the same more or less, one of the reasons to attack you on RP would be to draw our troops away from Stormia. We are going to play into that, and give them some MIs, possibly a few tanks to harrass them with.

    3. This is also were you would probably fit in best. Obviously, you need to worry about your defenses in Estonia. But the troops already under way, to Legoland or ND, should probably be best diverted to Legoland. This, 'to claim back your territory' in public, but in reality to draw as much troops as possible from Bob so that we can attack ND.

    4. You should be 2 or 3 turns from landing your troops (I haven't looked at the save so don't know your exact position), but please coordinate landing with us. We will try to get troops up there asap. We hope you will still have cities over there at that time. (hum... sidenote... let me get back to you on this.) If we can time it so that 1 or 2 turns after landing on Legoland we invade ND, it would be perfect to draw forces.

    5. propaganda. We are trying to set up a campaign, so that it seems like we are going back to Legoland. If at all possible, we'll try to lure them into invading us. Please don't blow our story here. In no way should ND suspect that we're aiming for them, or there is no chance of success.

    Okay, back to those cities. Right now, you can't defend them, and it will take another turn at least before you can land troops to do. My suggestion is the following: Whatever you can hold, you keep. ND will be pushing on next turn, so if you've got size 2 cities left, draft a MI. The other cities would probably be best in our hands, so give them back for now. I don't think ND will attack us yet, and we can put a defender in there (that doesn't mean we will put a defender in there, this will depend on what we can do with the limited troops we do have). When you are ready to land, we give them back to you. Coordination is key.

    Lastly, one very important request. I was not aware of it, or would have warned you. It seems you are blocking our transport lines, blocking harbors even. Please stop! We need to get our transports to Lego or to ND, and are still building ships everywhere. Aeson just warned me that Hurricane is about to finish a BB, and to quote: "It will be leaving port next turn whether RP is still there or not. "
    Timing is everything, so far the schedule is to attack ND in 4 turns, but losing one ship for one turn can mess everything up. So please, stay 1 tile out of our harbors! The whole sea between Stormia and Legoland is free of enemy ships (except a few Voxian pickets), so use the room you've got.

    I just want to give you the assurance that GoW remains neutral in this conflict, even if GS decides to intervene. We'll be glad to compensate any lost resources or luxes by RP. We told ND to mediate and warned them to gift or get rid of any of their possessions on Legoland which
    are not inside the area that was allotted to them. I've been talking a lot with GS regarding the incident, if you want more info ask Cort Haus to pass you our correspondance, we have no problem with you reading it.

    Meanwhile, let's see if ND complies... :S

      We really appreciate it, MZ.

      If it comes down to is (mostly due to curiosity), we may ask Cort about the conversations, but mostly just to pump up some egos over here. We're sort of down about the whole thing.

      We were looking forward to the whole resettlement/rebuilding project and getting set up on some decent land to build again. Frankly, we've squeezed all the usefulness out of our little corner of Stormia and it's been really really boring playing over the last year or so. This was going to be something to get some of us back interested.

      To be frank, mediation with ND is pretty, well, boring too. Can't you guys all just have a fun nuke fest and blow the hell out of ND in a single turn or something. THAT would be fun! That would make this game something to remember! Right now, ND destroying some Spanish settlements for stupid reasons is just petty, and really not all that much to get excited about to anyone else but us.

          Hello Togas,

          I hope you get this in time.

          GS is going to be gifting RP the town of Squall next turn if your Transports are within range of unloading troops from it. We have 2 Transports that are bringing over troops, and if you give us Squall back they can land before ND gets a chance to respond as well.

            Togas,

            I can't tell you about espionage. It's something that is used so rarely in SP that I just don't know. My guess is that ND wouldn't waste cash on causing disorder in your cities and that this is the result of losing so many cities, but ND is running 100% tax (or was last turn) so espionage is a possiblity.

            We are gifting Squall to you this turn. After you use it gift it back to us and we'll land too. We can't wait for your Infantry. Since ND has such a production advantage on us, we lose too much ground each turn we delay.

            ND has a few exposed Tanks around Legoland, and are defending the 3 cities they captured from you with Tanks as well. Those are targets you should be able to take with Conqs, albeit with heavy losses on your part. Odds are you'll need 4-5 Conqs per fortified Tank on flats, so you definitely should be able to trigger your GA and take a couple cities. Deluge would be a great capture as you can send it to us and we'll add Workers to it then draft a unit out of it. (Sorry, if I would have stacked our Workers you could have captured them and done this yourself, but I didn't think of it before playing the turn.)

            The most important target though is Mecca. As ND's only city on the coast that is where they would be landing reinforcements. We actually want them to send units to Lego and get them off Bob, but it could be best if we can pillage the roads surrounding Mecca to give us another turn before the reinforcements can act against us (and make ND think we don't want them getting reinforcements into action on Lego quickly). That would take 8 Conqs to pillage the Road/Rails on the 3 Hills and the Mountain. We can take care of the Desert.

            It might be better for you to use those Conqs to take out another city or two instead though. Between the combination of the loss of 2 Luxuries from GS, and WW from losing cities, ND might end up losing a lot of cities to disorder themselves. Whatever RP would prefer is ok with us.

            We have no idea how many units ND has on Lego. They have 4 Transports that could be operating in the area, and that means they could have upwards of 100 units transported over in the last few turns. If they only have the units we can see, or not much more than that, it may be possible that we can wipe them off Lego altogether, in which case we will gift Squall back to you so you can land the Infantry. If Mecca is cut off completely and the other cities destroyed we can do so as well. Otherwise you'll need to plan to land your Infantry conventionally. The Mountain fortress by Vox's "The Limit" would be a good position to do so if you can reach it.

            On the economic front, GS is 140g short of being able to pay ND for Rocketry. We want to settle the deal before attacking even though the cash shortage is ND's fault (hopefully we'll be capturing the gold back from ND). We can make up some of that deficit by selling off some less useful improvements, but if you can send us the whole 140 it would be great. If not, we will figure something out.

                Well... we didn't do so hot on Lego. ND had more units in Mecca than we could deal with. But hopefully ND will divert a lot of forces there to clean up.

                ND has a 1/5 MI, 2 2/4 T, 3/5 T, 1/4 T left in Mecca. That's with at least 2 4/4 MI in the other surviving towns and a 4/4 T and 4/4 Infantry on the Uranium.

                We have a 4/5, 4/4, 2/5, 2/4, 1/4, and 1/4 MI left on Lego, with a 2/4 T as well. All out in the open.

                Because we couldn't take Mecca, we had to disband all our cities on Lego. We still might together have overall numbers advantage if ND can't land any Transports next turn, but that definitely won't last very long.

                Find a good defensive spot and hole up there, that's what we'll be doing too if any of our troops survive.

                    Hello Togas,

                    It looks like Lego was again not eliminated, unless GoW didn't report it. If Lego are still in the game, GS needs to get out of Mobilization.

                    Would it be possible for you to declare war on us, then offer us peace with whatever cash you will be sending? We will be finishing Miniaturization this turn, which is perfect timing to leave Mobilization, change a few builds if necessary in the big picture (We should be able to build the Internet in Mobilization as it is flagged Militaristic in the editor, but not completely sure), then re-enter Mobilization.

                    We are sending you Furs currently, and will send them back to you before your next turn. Are there any other resources we are supplying you that we need to do the same with?

                            Just wanted to catch you before the save gets there.

                            It sounds like all you have left now is that Settler. We will have less than that in a few turns no doubt.

                            The game will probably crash if you try to disband your Settler, or someone tries to kill it. If you found a city first, then it should be possible for a team to elminate you. If you want to settle in GS lands and have us elminate you we can do that. I'm sure most of our cities will be in disorder this next turn, so missing some tiles isn't going to hurt.

                            We all knew this day would probably come. Only one team can win... eh... nevermind.
