  • Team Voting: Ship Chaining

As posted by Trip in the public forum:

Basically, ship-chaining involves moving a number of units from one ship to another on the sea, making it possible to move units across water instantly with enough ships to transport the units.

I'll keep this "poll" open for 7 days, giving the teams enough time to debate the issue and submit their votes. Whichever option wins will be added to the official "rules document" which will be voted on in turn in a couple weeks.

    So:

    Should ship chaining be allowed?

Each team may Approve, Disapprove or Abstain.
Please vote IN HERE if you're around. I'll post the team decision once we have one.

I have no objection to the use of this maneuver. It is a version of what we did when we settled uber isle in dg1

I agree. I have no problem with ship chaining. Afterall, the chain means your ships are spread out in different places and the chain CAN be broken with the use of a fleet by the other side. It's certainly not unstopable.

I agree, ship chaining is less of an exploit in MP/PBEM than in single-player, because it is much more difficult to do without a) the other team knowing what you are doing b) losing your ships/units in the process.
