MY GOD, it's like they're just being handed every luxury in the game! And what the hell is with the 90% tax rate? They have a ton of extra resources and they must be rushbuilding projects all over their empire, perhaps also buying tech.

They could even go for a culture victory with this set up.

Clearly they must be relying on deals to get tech while they stockpile money for rushing/futures military upgrades. They could also plan to really crank the tech rate later, while running a deficit. If they get Sistene they can probably run at 0% lux for the entire game. One has to wonder how much money they have.

        Wow ! Interesting view !

But the Lego's dream to rule the world could be broken soon. I wonder how much time will ND and GoW wait until attacking the Lego's continent

Here's the PM from Cort Haus on the subject:

We established en embassy with Lego, and would like to share the Intel with you.

Can you believe it - ND are supplying Lego with FOUR luxuries. Also, Lego is going at 90% tax.

          Regards,

If ND is supplying them with that many luxuries and they're at 90% tax... who wants to bet that GoW might be willing to BUY some intel information from us/GS on the subject?

We don't have to tell them what it is, we simply have to tell GoW that GS/RP have obtained some intelligence information about Legoland that could be of importance to GoW and we're willing to sell. If they press, we'll tell them what happened... a shot of Legoland's capital along with related information.

We could at least find how much GoW is willing to pay for it....

We should bring that up with GS, I think. Thoughts?

Just sent this to Cort Haus:

I've asked for thought on my immediate thought on this in our forum and mentioned that we should at least bring up the idea with you guys...

What if we told GoW that we (GS/RP) have conducted some investigation of Legoland and we're willing to sell the information to them. Tell them that at least some of the information (which we can attach) could be of some interest to them. Between GS and RP we can determine ahead of time which one of us might get a better price out of GoW and try to sell it to them. Whoever sells it, the money can go toward improved GS research either way, I'd think (which ends up beneffiting the entire alliance), assuming the price is even money (other favors could be negotiated, of course).

Do you think they'd even be willing to buy it? I think they would... and besides, anything that gets GoW or ND thinking about and looking at how strong Legoland has become is good in my book. The fact that they're getting four luxes from ND is even more interesting. Perhaps GoW already knows this, but what if they don't?

Worth a shot, at least, I'd think.

              What do you think?

                From Cort Haus:

Yes, we too have considered the benefits of leaking this info to GoW / ND, as a demonstration of Lego's strength.

In fact I already did leak it to GoW for free in fact, seeing as they had prior insisted on giving us their World Map (which you should get this turn), but more importantly they also just paid up 300g in compensation for goofing a tech deal, which still went through OK in the end.

So GoW have seen it, but not ND yet. It might be good for RP to approach ND, and to see what they say. We didn't think of charging GoW for it, as they're paying us a lot of gold for this tech deal. It might be interesting to see if ND will pay. It's got to be worth a few gold to them, (it was ~80g for the embassy). If they don't want to pay anything, maybe they've already been shown it by GoW which would be a good thing, if it gets them thinking about Lego's power.

Since the leak, 'Unofficial Sources' in GoW have spoken of a window of opportunity for a Grand Alliance to hit Lego between Mil Trad (along in a few turns) and Nationalism/Steam. This makes a lot of sense. Just 'chatter', rather than official team positions, but eyebrow-raising, perhaps

                - Cort.

                PS: Tech Update.

GS Research is rocketing along, with the help of RP input. Magnetism in 2 turns, trade for Metallurgy, then ToG in 5 turns and it's the new era. Chemistry and Metallurgy have 20 turn NDA's (as do Physics and Magnetism going to GoW) but when they expire we can bring you into the Industrial Era.

                  Togas,

We should probably contact ND about the investigation as GS has suggested. Is Darekill still in charge over there?

                    Try both Darekill and Bongo.

But I imagine GoW has told them already. Seems a bit silly to me to try to sell them something they will probably get for free from GoW. Would be better if we just offered it to ND for nothing, as the gold we'd get would be worth much less than the good will we'd get by giving it away.

As far as any potential invasion of Lego, I dont see it happening in the short term as ND is giving Lego Lux. Once the Industrial Age hits, railroads will make any continental invasion of Lego very difficult, assuming they have coal. Unless its a full dogpile, I dont see that getting very far.
