  • The Plan: IMPORTANTE

    Togas, here is the plan:

GS are in negotiations with GoW to conclude their current contract with ND, make peace with GS and RP, then be hired by GS to eliminate ND from the game. Completion of their existing contract can be attained by relocating RP in N.Stormia.

GoW will be offered an attractive payment by GS for the proposed new contract, which if they accept will include the provision for RP to be returned to parts of Spain, though not sharing a border with GoW, after the successful conclusion of the war against ND. This would depend on another provision of the contract, that GoW and RP would drop their mutual animosity and intent to destroy each other. GS would build cities and improve land in Spain for eventual transfer to RP.

Under the plan, RP would continue to be a valuable ally of GS in the fight against ND - not militarily, but economically. We would like RP to use their new capital and other cities gifted to them in N. Stormia to build transferable economic infrastructure - marketplaces, courthouses and harbors which, on RP's return to Spain would be transferred to GS, who will then enjoy semi-productive cities in North Stormia. Meanwhile, RP can aid GS by offering gpt payments from their interim economy to help pay for upgrades in the fight against ND. Naturally RP will continue to recieve GS military protection during this period.

If we are successful against ND, we would probably intend to take out another contract with GOW - this time against Lego. It is our hope that in the course of working with GoW as contractual allies, the inevitable historical animosity between RP and GoW would be at first alleviated by the common cause, and eventually minimised by the development of trust and co-operation. The better relations are between GoW and RP, the stronger RP will be able to grow.

In the course of discussions with GoW they hinted that the story about GS having no Saltpeter might not have come from reliable sources. We are working on terms of the deal which will include GS recieving Invention and Gunpowder upfront, to help resolve this issue.

We are currently in a one-turn cease-fire with GoW. They will ping some of our Knights with Cats for appearances, but obviously if a deal is to be struck it must be as soon as possible, as GoW cannot keep up appearances for long, and GS and GoW have no wish to destroy each others units at this point. If RP are in agreement, they can gift GS all their cities but Pamp on your next turn if we were able to close the deal quickly. (to ensure the Palace jump the following turn would send the Palace to Stormia.) It might not be possible, but with the RoP bug back again we might have the delay we need. How you could get rid of Pamp without destroying it I don't know, but unless there is another way it might come to that. We're open to suggestions, including taking it in a 1-move war if that is best.

We hope this plan isn't too shocking - we think it's the best bet our alliance has of winning the game.

I need EVERYONE on this team to review this plan and carefully consider your response.

For my part, I accept it. And I urge you to also accept it.

    Why?

For one, this long seige needs to end, and I hope that it would end in a positive fashion. GS has sacrificed tremendously for our benefit and ultimately our alliance has not retaken a single city, and does not appear destined to win a military victory.

My ultimate goal is to see Spain one day restored. This is a long route to restoring Spain, but it is the most promising plan we've yet seen.

We need to drive a wedge between GoW & ND. This plan appears to do it. Once their alliance breaks up anything becomes possible for us, including recapturing our homeland.

Lastly, how much fun has this game been the past 2 months? Our activity level has fallen to zero and will fall further as the seige wears on. This plan gives us new activity, new hope, and a new reason to check in every day. We also should be able to get progress reports from GS on their war on ND, and we will be able to savor the misery of ND as their "Ally" GoW betrays them.
ND will suffer the way we suffered!

We will be able to watch GoW and GS destroy Legoland too! And once again relish the misery of the pathetic Legolanders. And in the end, if our friendship with GS holds up, we will be able to destroy GoW with them, and hold true to our aim of winning the game with GS as our game-long ally.

Please consider this proposal. If you don't like it, please say why. If you do like it (or at least you can accept it), please voice your opinion as well.

    Let's go for it.

Who knows, we may get our revenge against GoW one day.....things are always a fluid situation as long as we are alive and GS see to it that we are viable.

I agree with this as well. I think that, however unfortunate this may be, that this plan offers the greatest chance that GS and RP have of still surviving and potentially winning the game.

If GoW double-crosses us, they double-cross us. This game was getting old anyhow.

But if we can really drive a wedge between GoW and ND and eventually use GoW against Legoland while resettling Spain for RP Team, we've got the game for GS with RP as a loyal ally. That's probably the best we can hope for.

      So I'm for it.

I agree, we must accept. If someone decides to backstab us, there isn't much we can do. This deal is moer attractive to us survivability-wise that out current situation.

Personally I don't see GoW double-crossing us (and GS for that matter) because they realize ND is getting too strong, and the current alliance they have with ND only benefits ND due to that fact that any of our cities captured by GoW are useless to them procuctivity wise while ND is able to connect the cities they took to their road network and melt them into their growing empire.

We hitched our cart to GS a long time ago and they have been trustworthy allies. I support this plan.

Well from an RP standpoint this would be disastrous to me (that is, if I ever DID some more RP again..).

I had a little scheme cooked up with UnO for the war which would be utterly ruined by this. Moreover, I know so little about ND and they are not as close to us as GoW/GS etc are thus the RP against them would just not be anything special that I can think of.

However, this sounds like the best ingame offer we've ever got.

              Here's the 350AD screenshot, Togas.

Thank you for the cities, this move is helping with the current phase of negotiations with GoW. We've pumped Miller Town up to six and sent you that for your Palace jump - should that transpire. The other two cities can follow if peace is signed. We we have settlers on the way to claim and consolidate the territory on Bob, and to start rebuilding Spain.

Negotiations proceed with GoW, and we are are also seeking Lego's approval / involvement. We'll keep you informed.

I'm a bit late because my interest was caught by a game called Neverwinternights, which finally passed into my hands.

I am sceptical about trusting GoW, but I have finally understood that continuing like this is not in OUR interest. Though I doubt that GoW is so foolish that they will allow our alliance a chance to destroy them after the Great War with Legoland i think that this is, at least on the middle-long term the best option.
We have but to be watchful for an eventual sneak attack. It would not be the first time for GoW to sneak against us. Suggesting a backstab is an excellent strategy to change the current status quo in an advantage over us for the GoW-ND alliance.

Do we have any real choice in the matter?

It appears that this plan was accepted. Fine. Only one point - although we may not attack GoW in the near future, we will keep our options open to mount their heads on pikes at later dates.
