I would rather see us burn down every city, pillage every road, and disband every unit than become chattle for the Gathering Storm.

Fight, and burn Atlanta before Sherman has a chance of taking it.

        Great lords of Spain:

My family has been outside the first line of duty for many years, nor we are fully aware of what is happening, so forgive me if I am missing some important fact in my speech.

It is clear that these dammed arabs and chineese have one purpose: To destroy Spain. If we do not accept Egyptian help, then we are offering our enemies what they want in a silver plate. This reason alone would be enough to become an Egyptian vassal state. But there are some other things to consider. If Egypt realizes that we are going to get destroyed, they will probably invade our East lands and get as much as they can, get the spoils of war. So we would be facing not only two but three powers, and probably Lego would do the same.

This agreement with GS is not only a way to survive and to ensure that the Glory of Spain lasts and stands the test of time, it is also a way to give those invasors what they deserve. So, I humbly give my support to the King and its wise choice.

I will NOT allow inflated feelings of pride and arrogance destroy the future of Spain and erase our people from the history books!

Where is Lux Invicta now? They exist only as slave worker units for the "Glory of War"! THAT is not a fate that Spain should ever accept for our people! We will not be ruled over by Neu Demogyptican governors and Warmonger tyrants, slowly raped and "assimilated" into their culture until we exist no more!

Furthermore, we will not commit suicide or arrogantly stand on the battlefield against hopeless odds and justify our irrational actions by our inability to accept help when offered.

Spain is proud, yes. But if this pride rises to arrogance or narrowmindedness then it is no better than any other sin that man falls into.

We accept FEALTY, not slavery. You Lords should know the difference.

            My Lord,

In the end, there is no difference. Once Egypt gains the upper hand here in Bob, we can never hope to overcome them. We are slaves whatever we do.

You know, my friends, that there is nothing I love more than Spain. To have my love for Spain called "inflated" hurts deeply. However, what I think no longer matters. This is in the hands of God. It is His Will if we are to die now or to die one thousand years from now. Whatever happens, there is no way out but the death our King sees in his most terrible dreams.

I woke up in the middle of last night to find my dreams standing before me. There were the warriors of old Spain, standing around my bed. At the foot of my bed stood my old great-great-grandfather who fell at the Squidimark. His sunken eyes bored into my soul. There was a hole in his chin where an axe had been laid. The rest of his face was hidden to me by the mantle of the shroud he wore. Beside him stood the old Marshal Dejon, his face mauled horribly by the teeth and claws of a great bear. His body was in shreds, it was a wonder to me that he stood, and even more of one that he still clutched in his hand his old battleaxe.

There also stood Vergwen Longface himself, the last prince of the Visigoths, who was dragged to death in the tide of Giant's Crossway in that last battle outside Madrid one by the first King Togas. From where he stood, a strange and murky light shone down on his pale, rotten face. There appeared to be ripples in the light, like waves being shone on by a Spanish moon. There were clumps of seaweed on his belt and shoulder, and his hair was matted and dirty.

I knew that he had been dragged down in that fight, down into the deep. His finite body drowned, so also was his infinite soul. Yes, he was carried down by a tide, down, down, down into the deepest of waters. He was dragged down where light does not shine and where he is confronted with only the vaguest and most horrible of primordial forms. Who knows what he saw down there? The shell of the sea stretched before him, and there, one might imagine, enthroned on his coral throne, Vergwen, drowned in body and soul, enshrouded in water, saw the Omnipotent God before him.

What the visitors before me tried to say did not register in my mind. The memory was fleeting, and they soon departed as silently as they had come. Let, I thought, they told me what I already knew. I knew that they had beckoned me, for they outlifted their hands. They wanted me to join them as they retreated into the shadows.

I will fight for Spain, and I will die for Spain. Give us time before we rush into this action. At least give us one [ooc]turn[/ooc] battle to take down as many of our enemies as possible before we make such decisions. We have no idea how many men the Chinese can bolster.

Also, if we sign this document, we should not cede our land. Under no circumstances can we do this.

Lastly, we must also make it part of the treaty that they must convert to the One True Faith of Christianity. Otherwise they will bring their heathen idols to the shores of Bob and oppress our Church.

            Empire growing,
            Pleasures flowing,
Fortune smiles and so should you.

Something tells me that Egypt is comming to Spain any way. They can come as friends to help us or as oportunists to get the spoils of war. At the end the result will be the same for them, they will get the easter lands. But the result will not be the same for our people. They will be dead, and I'm sure they won't understand this strange code of honour when the invasors kill them.

What's honorable about leting your people die on purpose?

[OOC] The conversion to our religion is a very good point. In terms of gameplay this means very few for them, but for an RP team is a great victory[/OOC]

We will die unless they respect our religion and join it. I say that this must be part of the deal.

Also, there must be as little ceding of land as possible, and no deals with traitors (i.e. Arabia and China).
