Here are my thoughts on goals in the Great Bobian War. What we need to decide is a prioritization of goals and a strategy based upon that prioritization. The reason for this is that, simply put, it may not be possible to achieve all of them (or perhaps even fully achieve any of them).

    1. Prevent Spanish cities from being razed
    2. Prevent Spanish cities from being captured
    3. Kill GoW units
    4. Kill ND units
    5. Slow down the enemy to give time for effective allied assistance
    6. Prolongue the war to ensure maximum waste of GA time by our enemies
    7. Counter-attack ND or GoW territory to raze cities
    8. Fight to the last unit in each city
    9. Raze our own cities rather than see them captured or razed by the enemy
    10. Make sure the Eastern front (GoW) holds
    11. Make sure the Western front (ND) holds

There are other potential goals, but these are at least one's I'd think people are considering.

As for my personal instinct on choice of goals:

    - Kill GoW units
    - Make sure the Eastern front (GoW) holds
    - Slow down the enemy to give time for effective allied assistance
    - Fight to the last unit in each city

    My reasoning:

The GoW force is composed of 10 riders nearly 20 tiles away from their territory while their homeland almost certainly has nothing to back it up with but through additional production. Our best bet is to DEFEAT the GoW army in the East that is already on top of us and threatening Toledo and Madrid. GoW will then take a very long time to reinforce this initial rush and may even decide to backstab ND instead (it's shorter and easier if ND has their forces by that point imbedded in us).

As for ND, we'll simply have to try to hold them off with what we have in the West. Once the intial 10 riders in the East have been killed, we'll only be facing ND and ND will have to worry more about a GoW backstab (or so we hope). Meanwhile, we can then concentrate ALL of our forces on defending Cow Valley against ND rather than splitting them on two fronts.

We also want to delay the enemy as much as possible in order to give time for GS to intervene (or Lego). I believe destroying the GoW force would be best for this, as it would lead to a huge drop in GoW's power rank and may even make GoW's likely relatively undefended homeland a more attractive target to outsiders who already don't like them.

In the long term, we want to fight to the last pikeman, the last spearman, the last unit in every case we can. We want this war to be slow and we want the enemy to take longer trying to defeat our nation as a whole. I have no intention to be the next Lux Invicta and I don't believe a Voxodus solution is open to us, nor do I desire it. We'll fight to the last man standing, thank you.

As a side benefit, if we can actually manage to defeat that initial GoW force, we'd gain some considerable bragging rights even if we lose the war. It's unlikely GoW will then get ANYTHING out of the war and it just might mean their own doom. This is entirely a side benefit, but it would be nice if we can swing it (hey, it's possible...).
