I would have called the thread Return of the Internal PBEMs (indeed, that is what I had originally titled it), but then I remembered that I have a Palpatine avatar
Anyhow...
Once upon a time in a land called "Spain", there was great fun had by many in a series of internal pbem games of Civ3PTW. As I recall, there was pbem #1 that sorta flopped and never really went anywhere, there was Pbem #2 which went all the way to 630 B.C. before first Ninot fell off the face of the Earth and then myself. Then there was PBEM #3 with whatever civs we wanted to play (8 players), but it was really slow for having so many players and sorta died of its own slow pace and finally stopped when I took off (I think).
It's probably a lost cause to continue the earlier games (though I would LOVE to if we can fill all of the slots, especially with game #3 and keep it moving), so any chance we can start new ones?
Pick whatever civ you want, probably 4-6 players works best (the 8-player one was intollerably slow), and just play.
We could also play some pick-up games over multiplayer with simultaneous turns. Those are actually a lot more fun because they... move. But it's not a big deal if we only do pbems.
I wonder what people think about that... I sorta miss that game where I was Archon Arnelos of Greece
