  • House of Lords bill: approval of an alliance with the Glory of War

Lords, there have been interesting developments again. It is clear that we don't want a war, but some of us do want an alliance, therefore again: do you want an alliance with GoW for the same reasons mentioned in the other poll?

    Duke Aidun Cian of Zaragoza,

    Lord Chamberlain
    11
Yes, I agree to ally with the Glory of War
    90.91%
    10
No, I do not agree to ally with the Glory of War
    0.00%
    0
Abstain: I don't know if I want to ally with the Glory of War
    9.09%

    The poll is expired.

    Hell yes!

GoW was busy with a huge scheme of deception against ND. And because GoW didn't fully trust us, they didn't let us in on the plan until we began to cry 'foul' in their direction.

Now they have come clean and explained that the witheld Chiv from us in order to convince ND that they wanted an Alliance to attack RP.

Granted, GoW could be lying. The could still be planning to attack RP along side ND. But if we agree to this Alliance with them, then they would at least suffer a huge Rep hit. If we agree to this Alliance it does not change how we will be moving our units and shifting our build ques in the least bit for the next 4-5 turns. If we see that GoW has not attacked ND or taken any of their cities, then we can assume the worst, but our agreeing to this Alliance doesn't mean that we will be any worse prepared for this than otherwise.

Agreeing to the Alliance could 'change' GoW's mind about attacking us if that is what they had their minds set on. We should agree immediately to it.

I do believe that GoW will not attack us, but if they do, an Alliance signed with them does us no harm and could cause them to change course if that course was us.

I would accept an alliance on the assumption that one of its terms is that we get chivalry now or at least as soon as any war breaks out. Should I vote yes?

I think the same as civman on that matter. Should our vote be yes, or should there be another option?

Look we have a Horseman right next to 10 GoW Riders. If they do not attack ND on their next turn, something is wrong.

But, even if GoW did do something stupid like come against us, what would it hurt our plans to agree to ally with them?

Please explain to me where it hurts us in the tiniest bit. Don't we expect an attack from ND anyways? If we ally with GoW and they back stab us, oh well, we will know that before we commit any trooops away from our borders. We lose nothing.

Yes, it would be nice to get Chiv for free out of this. Matbe offer them Iron and a Lux for it? But reagardless, lets get this signed so that IF GoW had any designs on us, this alliance might just change their minds.

Go ahead and sign the alliance so we have more to heap on GoW in the public forum when they attack us.

Wrangle Chivalry out of their hands.

Tell them that we're not stupid.

(Oh and when they do indeed attack us, could we borrow Beta's copy of "Public Relations for Dummies"? )

An alliance seems like a good way for us to cover our asses or make GoW look like the bad guys (which we all know they are
