I will soon stop with being Pope. Being Pope is very nice, but I feel that it is now someone else's turn to be the most powerful guy (except for King Justino Togas, who plays the political game pretty well and is thus quite powerful ) in the world. This position will only become more influential anmd of more importance now that the Church will go international. The Pope might become a key figure in the diplomacy in the near future. He might become a key figure because the Church can function as a body in which we peacefully and joyfully roleplay together with members of other nations. This will prevent flame wars like between Vox and GS, and might even improve our diplomacy.

This thread is however not meant to advertise about the office of Pope, but to nominate for Lord Chamberlain.

I nominate myself, but I will not be available in the next three weeks. If I become chosen, I will immediately go off on holiday I cannot serve as Lord Chamberlain (unless Togas would like to keep contact by phone , although that would be pretty cosly).

After these three weeks I will serve as well as I can.

I really should have labelled this as a generic nominations and position discussion thread rather than merely for the position of Lord Chamberlain... oh well.

So we have one nomination. Any more? Any discussion of other positions?

I mean, the King appoints ministers, but the House of Lords will be the body approving such appointments. Perhaps we should discuss who would like to have certain posts in King Togas' government beyond the position of Lord Chamberlain.

King Togas had said he'd appoint the following positions:

      General of the Army
      Chief Ambassador
      Minister of Public Works

King Togas suggested that the House of Lords should perhaps elect a Domestic Minister which we would give the power to overrule city build queues when necessary. What do you, the Lords of Spain, think of this suggestion and are there any who would like that role?

I nominate Arnelos with the idea that some campaigning could be fun

The difficulty will be to imagine a style of campaigning that will not hurt the high Spanish nobles dignity.

I'll nominate WhiteBandit as Domestic Minister.

I'm also assuming I'll keep my post as Chief Ambassador. I don't recall reading that the House of Lords would aprrove or disapprove of his appointments to these positions:

          General of the Army
          Chief Ambassador
          Minister of Public Works

I may have read it wrong though...

I believe Arnelos to be a good Lord Chamberlain. I would run myself if I was not so old and infirm, but I will be remembered as the father of the Vigo accord and the republic and that is far more than I ever would have hoped for.

I would like to see that Senor Clemente assumes the post of Lord Chamberlain to the King. Judging on the abilities of all of his dead ancestors, I suspect he would make a very able administrator, and this position would be ideal for him, and consequently, for the entire country.

The nomiation of a Lord Chamberlain is URGENT and NECESSARY for the proper management of our new Republic.

I could very well assume the role of an Emperer if the Lords wanted to grant me such power, but it would be a slap in the face of the Vigo Accord.

Our new system of government demands that another leader from the Lords emerge to assist in the management of our lands and cities. Please, tell me that there is SOMEONE amongst the Lords who is worthy of the great title of Lord Chamberlain. Your King begs you for the additional help in these difficult times.
