  • Game Report 1900 BC

Settler finished. He'll have a city built in the intended location in 4 turns.

Barb warriors wandered around a bit... moved our units accordingly.

Invictus expands to size 2 in 2 (!) turns. 10 turns on the next settler. We should have quite a settler farm going before too long.

Nothing else of significance regarding game matters to mention...

Reset your Calendar. It is only 1990 BC.

Did you protect the road near Regio? If the barbarian wanders on it, he might pillage.

Did you protect the road near Invictus? If the barbarian wanders on it, he might pillage.

How did you protect the Settler? With the spearman or the warrior?

I suggest that we retreat our warriors from the south, to be more flexible in dealing with these things.

Are we building another Settler? This would be best, IMHO, to found a city to the NE of Invictus, where there is wheat and Game. It'll have low corruption, too. And one warrior will be enough to protect it.

Fill me in on what happened... Has the mysticism deal been negotiated with the Vox? Are they still whining about them getting tier 1 tech for tier 2 tech?
        :-p

Most of the units are being 'pulled back', so you don't have to worry about that.

I'll post a screenshot of our country...

Well. I figure the barbnear Regio is more likely attempt to move there to pillage as opposed to simply atttacking the city. The warrior near Invictus: He will likely bypass the units and go for the defended city. We have a warrio in Regio too right? We can't allow land to be pillaged and KEEP THE OTHER ONE OUT OF INVICTUS.

May I remind you that crisis w/ Vox must be settled before ANY trade relations can continue w/ other civs. We gotta come to agreement ASAP so we can get myst.

Things are sounding good, I've been out of touch, been putting together my new 2.4ghz pentium 4 computer.. Civ3 goes like the wind, or alike a battalion of horny sipahi horsecavalry!

I hope that worker by the cattle is protected by the god minerva , he looks quite vulnerable.

I support the strategy of doing a REX, and building many cities , this should be a priority over making war.
We should destroy the barbarians, and get our units trained.. maybe use the spearmen and attack the barbs warriors when they are on undefended lands.

Ideas: (the left spearman should attack the barbarian warrior near R . Equorum.
We should build a city just south of the northern iron in this forums pic, so it can also use the spice square , and can make use of those nice hill rivers.
We really need iron soon, especially for knights and mediaval infantry. Swordsmen are nice and cheap and great attackers also.

Oh no, the NDE have iron .. but I guess our horsemen will take care of swordsmen.

I suggest making our next city near that Iron, otherwise NDE will just take it.. I don't think we have any other iron sources in the area, do we?

I still think any war with NDE should just involve us and one other, too many allies will mean we have less chance of capturing cities(which is best normally) and our allies will lose more troops hopefully , as we'll be more evenly matched.

We need more intelligence on what forces the NDE and our friends have.

PJ, I could use a supporting voice such as yours!

I've toned down my war rhetoric, having garnered a deeper appreciation for our risky predicament. However, we really need to build a city in two spots, ASAP.

One has already been agreed apon-the site near the cattle. The second, however, I feel must be in the nook of the river just north of the spice and nw of our warrior.

Not because we need the spice, but because we need to firm up our borders and secure the future use of the iron nearby.

We can not allow NDE to rob us of this iron source. Plus, this second city will have the added defensive bonus of th river on two sides.

We need these two cities ASAP!!!
