  • Vote for new military plan

Okay, I am no political dollard, nor will I ignore the wisdom of the mob. Please vote either for or against my new proposal, which should, if given the necessary votes, become our strategic directive for the next 40 turns.

    1) Invictus: Granary, Settler, Spearman, Spearman, Settler, Horsemen, Horsemen
    - Settler 1 to position near cattle in North
    - Settler 2 to position near iron
    - Two options hear:
    - Build city NNE of iron in military zone
    - Build city adjacent to NDE city, on hill in corner of river and within expansion of iron

    - Spearman 1 and 2 to defensive positions on edge of hills on our border with NDE
    2) Regium Equorium: Spearman, Worker, Barracks, Horseman, Horsemen....

    Diplomatically:
Admiral PJ must work with his ambassadors, most importantly the ambassadors to GoW and RP, to formalize technology and defense agreements. For now, it's best to formalize a mutual defense only agreement...later, when we're closer to war, start asking about military alliances.

Also, I would like Admiral PJ to put me in contact with the military advisors of GoW and RP, ask them to email me.

    Militarily:
In accordance with my opening statement, I propose that we continue our Rexing strategy, if only to ensure that we have a bubble of sovereignty to our west, from the cattle in the north, curving down to the military zone with NDE. Also, we should balance this strategy with military defense as planned above. No improvements, beyond the Granary and the Barracks for now. Finally, we must build a shallow spearman wall on the hills in the military zone as a deterrence.

    City placement:
Maximize shields and pack them in! We're going to need allot of industry, albeit via smaller cities packed close to the capital and in the military zone. Later, we can rearrange/remove the waist.

    My concilliatory statement:
Fellow Luxians, if my redoric has offended any of you, then please accept my humble apology. I am a soldier who knows a dangerous situation when I see it. As such, I merely acted with such venom to ensure that I made everyone aware of the troubles I foresee for our proud people. I hope that this new post proves that I am willing to listen to and incorporate the thoughts and positions of others, especially those you have appointed to lead us in their ministries.

Show our leadership what you think of this plan, vote and comment.

    ~Your humble War Minister

Only one Spearman will be required. Start on that 2nd Settler immediately.

Game that is. There is Wheat, too.

    2) Regium Equorium: Spearman, Worker, Barracks, Horseman, Horsemen....
I don't think we need a Worker, since we are industrious. Build a Spearman of an Archer instead (or start on the Barracks).

    For the rest, I concur.

I accept your comments, and would like to clarify the following:

      1) The second spearman will head towards the hills in the west to bulster our defensive presence.

      2) With the worker, we could boost our production if we mine the plains. Otherwise, we could irrigate the plains, grow faster...Your thoughts?

We already have a worker. He will run a bit between the cities, but he'll be quick enough to provide the cities with necessary improvements.

          No workers for now.

          Priority: settlers.

We're not going to be the biggest civilization around, so we need to be the one with the sharpest edge. This means Barracks are a must, and our only offensive forces are to be fast and versatile Horsemen.

I have just sent email to PJ regarding Roleplay. I just have only other question.. Given that the NDE city is on a hill, how many horsemen do we think we will need to attack it with, given that or plan apparantly is to attack it with horsemen at the appropriate time.

The main tip of our spearhead into enemy territory will be our Horsemen. Of course, that does not mean we won't have other assault forces (i.e. Swordsmen and Catapults) to deal with other situations like the one you mentioned. I meant that only Horsemen will be used for operations to drive into enemy territory, and less of a 'siege fight' like the one over their nearby city would be.

I believe that the truth in this matter will be somewhere between all of our thoughts. My main purpose is to ensure that we realize what NDE is, whether they have purposefully planned to be such a menace or not, and whether we realize it yet or not, they are our primary competitor right now in the region. I believe that I've spurred the right level of discussion and that I've woken up enough of the team with regards to our current strategic position.

I want to see a message from Trip as to how my thoughts have been digested, and how he will play our future turns. Then, I will react to this message. Strategically, we are up against a wall, all it would take would be for NDE to come to this realization and we'd be done for. Let us pray for ignorance or more confusion of this fact on their side.

I'm going to open an orders thread so that the government can better form their ideas.

ND is in a pretty bad situation... an aggressive Roleplay to the south, two other civs breathing down its neck and poor terrain. I do feel that it will only be a matter of time before conflict erupts on our continent on a wide scale. However, I feel we have time, as I don't think ND wants to risk anything yet. They realize that between GoW and Roleplay doing anything now would probably be a bad idea. However, we should be prepared, and make sure that both GoW and Roleplay are prepared to come to our aid.
