There are two sources of iron that we are aware of. One is already within ND territory. The other is within the hills of the Military Border.

We could put a city on those forest plains just a bit above then have it get a temple and it's first expand will will include the iron, and until then we could colonise it. Then the city would have the iron but also those advanced grasslands.
I don't know how you can actually play with those graphics....

I say, let's make this a real military border with a city on the hill in the corner of the river next to NDE's city. This will also grab the iron when it expands."If you're not having fun, then you're losing the game."-Copyright Warrior Poet 11/18/2002 "No plan survives first contact with the enemy."-Tsun Tzu -Don't know when B.C.

The only reason I don't think we should put the city on the hill is that would then have TWO rather unproductive cities. The Forest location will have more food AND less corruption.Citizen of the Apolyton team in the ISDG

Is it necassary to build a city adjacent to the source of iron?
We do not need iron yet... it is also deep within the Military Border, beyond the grasp of ND, and most certainly GoW. Placing our next city there would mean that both the borders of the Northern Province and the Southern Province may very well be compromised. I strongly urge the rest of you to consider placing a city near the iron when we can accomodate it, and no sooner...

Trip, my option is not adjacent to the iron, rather, it would place our third city on the edge of the hills and just north of the spice, SE of the NDE city closest to us. I propose this merely to boost our defensive capability in the region, and our claim in the Military zone."If you're not having fun, then you're losing the game."-Copyright Warrior Poet 11/18/2002 "No plan survives first contact with the enemy."-Tsun Tzu -Don't know when B.C.
