  • War Ministry's State of Luxia

    Friends, Countrymen, Luxians!!!

Lend me your ears so that you may hear of the troubles facing our wonderful empire!

Lend me your minds so that you may learn of our difficult position.

Finally, lend me your heart, so that you may understand the troubles we will face.

To the North West, a neutral empire, the Glory of War hungers to be bought into battle!

To the far South a far friend whispers the sweet honey of peace.

To the South West...the orcs of Neodemi Egyptica beat their drums and throttle their younge into savages driven towards hate for our people! Their temples quake with the feet of the righteous and the calls to violence from their wicked clergy!

Our second city has been errantly placed in response to an aggressive move by NDE to build a city where we had clearly wanted to build our third city. They have lain an angry claim to the valley of milk and honey South of Regium Equorium. Their claws spread out dripping with venom towards our peace-loving people!

We must not stand for this ignorance and this disrespect! Our future sovereignty is on the line!

Stop the Granary and switch our industries to the machinations of WAR!!!

We must move Regium to the West, and we must clense the world of NDE!!!

If my opinions cost me this post, then fine!

War comes, friends, my proud people of Luxia!

    It comes!

Will we be prepared for it? Let us dictate the relationship to NDE. Let us not fear the price of freedom! the price of GLORY!

    Viva Luxia!

No War~ We won the territory through non-violent measures. No war would be better for us for now. Lets see if they will retaliate with attacks... Then we will crush them.

we dont even have an archer yet

What terretory have we won? They have the best land near our second city firmly within the grasp of their second city...

We have won nothing, and if we do nothing, then we will have lost everything.

Circumstances being what they are, I support the building of Barracks, followed by Horsemen.

No Barracks! We are not equipped for war, with only one extra city that is suffering from corrurtion. We need some good productive (= close) cities first, before we can even think of raising an offensive army. And that needs a Granary.

Secondly, I do not support the tone of this poll. There are two options, that are not really answering the question that is posed. I am in favour of a free Luxia, but against switching to barracks right now.

Horsemen...how far are we from Horseback riding? Would it be better to persue archers first, then we can reinforce with horsemen?

In a friendlier world, BFM, I'd be with you and what we had originally chosen in the beginning...peaceful expansion...

However, we have been unjustly stripped of this chance for early growth.

            It comes to this...

War will be costly, and our growth plans will be limited if not put on hold...However, if we continue with our growth plan, then NDE will fill up our Military Border, and almost certainly attack our new city soon.

We will be put on our heals and forced into a bad situation.

It is easier to Negotiate when your oponent is under your heal. The converse is also true, that you are at the mercy of the aggressor if you are under their heal.

We have a hard choice....you have to decide whether to be under the constant threat of isolation, pressed between the hills on the west and the coast on the east or to have some space for necessary growth and resources.

            Choose now.

BFM, I respect your choice, and if the majority of our people choose not to fight, then I'll accept that and I'll prepare the best defence possible for the coming struggle. But mark my words! If we do nothing, then our people will eventually fail.

Exactly. We need to keep ND down. This is something we (all) agree on.

But not through switching to barracks now. We could build a few archers after that, yes, but it will only help to scare them in the short run, and be very unproductive in the long run.

                (edit: removed ugly spelling mistakes)

Instead, let's keep them down through diplomatic means: allying with their neighbours and either responding to their attack or attack them ourselves. Two or three armies are better than one, even if the single one is slightly bigger!
