  • Game Report and Analysis 2800 BC

Continued exploring with the warriors. 1st Warrior moved further towards the coast towards Vox and discovered that our two continents are not connected. 2nd Warrior started heading south to the lands to the south-west. 3rd Warrior moved north towards the capital, and saw a GoW warrior heading south.

Our funds are quickly being drained... we'll have to lower our science value before we build our next city.

The current breakdown compared to the other teams is as follows: We are last in Population (little surprise there, since we have 1 size 1 city). We are last in Mfg Goods for the same reason. Same with Land Area. No one really cares about Literacy, Disease, Pollution, Life Expectancy and Family Size (we're 1st in all but Family Size, where we're 3). Our military is top-notch, where we are 1st in the world (yay for us!). Annual income is 2nd, and Productivity is 7th. Not bad for having 1 size 1 city.

GoW has already built their 2nd city, and NDE just finished building their 1st (produced) settler last turn meaning that we can be almost sure we'll be able to build a city first near the horses. Hooray for us! It's not definite though by any means... NDE is within range of it, so hopefully we'll be first to the area.

Iron Working is 8 turns away, and our granary in Invictus is 18 turns away. It will be another ~5 turns before we build our next city.

Okay, that's it for my game report and analysis! Bai bai nowwww!

From the looks of ur webpic, NDE will reach the horse plains within 4-5 turns. But the settling site will only include horse, and is not prefeable settling site. They also will have to build their city on a hill if they wanna pull this off. In addition, should they beat us by settling there, we can settle closer to horse plain so that we get immediate use of horses, since in order to do this they have to settle 2 squares away from it. Since we moved our settler for two turns we should get to the horse plain within 4 turns and be able to settle where we want.
    :-p

Looks like GOW will have an awesome 2nd city location and an early edge in production. We cannot afford to go to war with them for any part of the Ancient age. We will need to persue all means necessary to assure a continuance of our Non-aggression pact.

I vote that we push to contain our neighbors via diplomacy and military force if necessary. Since we are relatively pinned in by our local geography, it is all the more vitally important to control the North and Southern Provinces.

Finally, if we go for the horse plain, then we must understand that NDE may move towards the Western edge of the Military border, where we saw their first settler.

I believe that GOW will honor their word, but NDE seams more militant and paranoid....bad combination.

Again, I press for immediate military build up and expansion into the military border. We must also expand as rapidly as possible to achieve controlling positions in the North and South Provinces.

Right... going to war with GoW would be bad. Luckily, that won't happen.

After this first city it will be quite a while before we build our 3rd city, so it will probably be necassary to keep the other civs out of the territory aligned to us on my map. We'll see though...

If we can obtain a dominant position in the Military Border, then the North and South provinces will be secured. We must secure the west part of the North province, and the southern part of the Military border, and all of the land west of them will become ours.

Yes....sometimes I wish I could move the units myself, get a feel for the terrain, etc...however, I trust that our discussions will lead us to the best path. I hope GOW can be trusted, and I know NDE cannot...but that will have to wait.

It is better to have allies and friends than enemies,
but we can't rely on their millitary to persecute(carry out) our wars.

We need to keep a big hi tech army , so when war comes we can take as many cities as we can and fight as much as we can. Otherwise our allies will take all the enemies cities and leave us little.

Maybe as a prenuptual agreement thing, when we fight alongside allies, we agree to share the cities conquered fairly, depending on their closeness to friendly capitals, to stop corruption and cult. flipping.

Good idea! Prenuptial agreements prior to war is a great idea. However, your second point is also a good one. If we are the larger partner, then we should tend to profit most from the war.

Yes... I'm sure when we go to war, as soon as victory is assured for the good guys, we'll have a Casablanca type conference to divide up the spoils of war.

Roleplay said that in any potential war with NDE, they would simply raze cities rather than capture them due to the fact that they're so far away from their capital, and would be rather useless.

I'm liking these Roleplay team. I couldnt imagine talking about how to divide up NDE if we went to war. That thought didnt occur to me that far ahead. They look like they seriously mean alliance when they say it

                    Playing Devil's advocate here:

Is our proposed alliance with RP too much of a good thing?
