  • Directives from the War Ministry

    1) Use warrior in the west as described in other posts with regard to NDE settler, per team decision on how to proceed. (You have my opinion )

    2) Use our newest warrior to explore to the north towards the mountain, then as makes best logical sense in a northward motion until that unit makes contact.

    3) Sentry the spearman once constructed.

    4) I move that any elite units be renamed for distinction.

    5) BFM and our illustrious leader are doing a good job, but now PJ, Trip, and the team must make a hard choice between the lesser of many evils. If a war breaks out, I will be called to the front, directing our honorable warriors in the west. CalcII shall govern the city guard and those units not needed at the front.

    Long live the empire!

    Very good.

Only thing I'd recommend changing is moving 1st Warrior south (where NDE originates) instead of west.

Luckily, you don't have to worry about a war with anyone yet.

Yes, I guess I should have repeated those details, but South of course! If nothing else this keeps that settler from renigging in the short term.

Also, following South may not be a bad idea either.

Oh, and I'm headed back to the lavish training grounds, and CalcII can continue cross-training with the diplomatic core for now

There is a thread somewhere about scouting (on the Strategy forum maybe? I'll look it up). It states that the terrain generator is such that continents stretch out more in the west-east direction than in north-south direction. For this reason, it might be worth it to continue west for a little while longer, even if this means missing out on the ND homelands. Contact with a second Civ might be worth much more, since we now have another tech extra to trade with!

Well, we can now go either south or west. NDE doesn't want us to go south. They know where our capital is. What should we do?

keep following the settler. If we wanna keep their arms twisted, we have to keep chasing it.

I have a hunch that that the southern coast line is not that far south of our first warrior's postion...

On the other hand...maybe NDE is closer than we think? Perhaps their capital is actually SW of the Settler...A strong reason why they may not want us to follow the settler.

I say we get firm on our requirement for the deal, and if they don't follow throw, then we follow the settler.
