  • What to do with the first warrior

This poll is designed to determine whether we even should explore with the first warrior, and if so where he should go. As a result, there will be two groups for this poll.
Any vote in Group A means 'I don't want to explore with the first warrior. Any vote in Group b means 'I want to explore with the first warrior.
Other than that, just vote for the direction you want to the first warrior to go, regardless of whether or not you, in fact, want him to go. Think of a vote in Group A as being 'Even though I don't want to explore with the first warrior, if we have to, I pick this direction. All votes for a given direction will be aggregated, regardless of group.
This poll will be up for four days. If we need to make the decision before this poll is over, I trust it will be taken as a strong indicator of the will of the people.

Argument for not moving: what if another civ is very close by? Can an exploring warrior walk into our capital?
(they would have to be within 5 turns or so).

Argument for moving: seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no Invicti has gone before. And goody huts, of course.

Fortunately we can see rather far due to our location, so we'd be able to pick up on something like that rather easily.

I say move directly west since we'll have a mountain that we can see from...

Group A vs Group B... so far its 0:1 = 100% unanimous choice of exploring. That's pretty much sealed.

As for direction, its 5:1:1, W,E,SW. I voted E without taking an indepth look at our starting position, thinking moving horizontally or vertically may reveal more location at first. Well now I know thers a mountain near us, so I pretty much agree on W. It looks like poll will turn out that way too.

I think we should go west. It appears to have better terrain for out second city and the mountain will be good for visibility purposes. I vote to explore with first warrior also.

West also takes us away from that coast bit, so we're more likely to encounter other civs in the west.

We'll find the good land first as well. We alredy know the general layout of the area around is to the sea, we need to see what's further inland.
