Why go for wheel first? If your goal is Horseback Riding ASAP, then go for Warrior Code, as this will at least give you the Archer unit!!!! I say all The Wheel votes be combined with Warrior Code.:doitnow:

The main reason we want the Wheel first is to find the sources of horses on the map, not to build chariots.

Yes, but in every game I've played, horses are abundant. I'd rather have the archers to cheaply supplement my defense. Also, warrior code will be cheep, given the way others will play, therefore, it will take less time than the wheel to research.

BTW, I never said I wanted to be the science guy. Just let me be the muscle and mind behind the offense.

Exactly. So we should get Iron Working. We're Scientific, so we start with Bronze Working anyway. We must use our Advantage and not do whateveryone else is doing.

It also can take longer to hook up Iron than Horse. So Its nice to who where it is earlier. The General tech strategy I use in MP is to get IW and horse, then head straight for Monarchy. I find getting out of Despotism before your opponent to be important for getting a tech lead in the middle ages.

PB2000 has a valid point...from his perspective, I can see why we should go with IW first, and why I should not be involved in strategic research decisions.

Therefore, I'd like to change my vote, if possible to persue IW first, then go for horseman, then Monarchy.

We had a little discussion today: should we research a different tech, hoping to get Iron Working from a goody hut? We decided not to do that, to:

a) stick with the decision made in this poll;
b) ensure that we, in fact, _will_ research IW;
