  • We also need to make sure to keep our fleets up. Sinking them before they can even get to us is still one of our best options. Bombers will just make that even moreso...
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

    • The following note sent to ND:

      Hello, Darekill!

This turn, the "gift" deals arranged for silks and spices have expired. While silks are not to be renewed (unless you changed your mind and wish to keep trading them for a good price), spices are part of a lux-for-lux deal we have agreed to maintain (you get our dyes in exchange).

Due to technical reasons, our current dye supplies to you expire only in a few turns (in 3, IIRC). I suggest we wait for this deal to expire, too, and then set up a true lux-for-lux deal we'll not have to bother renewing every 20 turns. We'll not have to keep the deal in mind and we'll not need to use workarounds for the lux drops that occur on the turn a "gift" lux deal is renewed.

When you see no number before the dye item in your Legoland trade detail box (means the deal is going to expire after hitting the end turn button), simply send your spices as unaccepted. We'll counter with dyes, accept, and let you finish the transaction on the following turn.

This is slightly to our disadvantage, but we have had to make arrangements (because of the lux deals running out) anyway, so it does not affect us that much in the end. I believe the convenience of that running dyes-for-spices deal will balance this out.

      Best Regards,
      vondrack

      • Darekill's response...

        Hello Vondrack
It's allright i'll send you spicese the turn the gift expires.
Thank you for the three turns you will have no Luxury.
I apreciate that a lot though I'm sorry that we wont put up any other deals then the Lux vs. Lux deal.

One more word of warning. GoW is getting more and mor aggressive lately. Thanks god it doesn't seem to be ND they are after. Well on the other hand that won'T leave much more other options...

        Greetings Darekill

          • Well, if GoW comes after us, I have a feeling it will be in conjunction with a GS assault from the other direction. Best get our defenses in order ASAP...

            • The more I am thinking about Darekill's words, the less sense they make... I mean, cavalry against infantry backed by artillery in a completely railroaded terrain is a suicide... AFAIK, GS does not have Military Tradition. Tanks are still like 10-15 turns away and must be built from scratch, cannot be upgraded from cavalry... it's just... dunno... weird.

This is not a good time to wage war.

              • That's true, it's wierd.

It could be just a trick, to make us build more army instead of infrastructure while they are speading ahead in the tech race and then attack us much later with modern weapons.

Or, if he really means his words, it could be that GoW and GS prepare to cripple us as soon as marines and tanks will be available. They probable don't plan an invasion, just a surgical strike. If I was them, I'd attack Vox (who are extremly precious for us), involving only one of the teams, drawing in Lego's army on Legos Minor, and then trapping them there with an invasion of Invoice, leaving the other parts of our territorry exposed to the other team's attack. It'd be enough to destroy 3 or 4 of our big cities to cripple us (Karina, Jackson, Legopolis and maybe Red Bricks and we are finished).
This sounds maybe a bit extreme, which doesn't mean however that we shouldn't prepare for it.

                • Yep, I was thinking along the same lines as Tibi... I would also strike at Vox, if I were them (especially after GoW/GS find out about techs we get from Vox)... I will start a separate thread on how to counter this threat - probably tomorrow.

                      • ok, now you included it for the second time in your quote. So take it out as well.

Even though I consider this completely useless. Almost all members of Lego are members of Poly in the ISDG, and those who are not, are probably not members of any team.

                        • You say, "probably." That is a risk the ISDG cannot take.

                          • We have no members of GCA or GWT in our ranks. Everybody else knows about the planned operation anyway, so it's perfectly ok to mention the fact here.
