  • Nimitz, what are the RPs doing?

Could you find out what happened? Why are they delaying this turn so much? Are they having problems (with other teams) ? Is it an important decision/poll (war?) ?

Or they've just had some technical problems (no one who plays the game available, etc)

Com'on, you're our best spy, find out

Re: Nimitz, what are the RPs doing?

I am almost sure RPers got drawn into the war. I talked to Nimitz briefly yesterday, just hours before he planned to approach them with our Lighthouse proposal. As he hasn't come back to report the result of his mission, I am quite sure there were no negotiations held at all. It seems that RPers are now quite busy with more important affairs...

I have seen Arnelos posting in other threads, so it is hardly any technical problem.

I want to know about the WAR

Perhaps Trip and/or ND proposed them an alliance against GoW. Aargghhh, I want to see the war!

Still no word back from GoW... which makes me think we probably won't be hearing anything from them anytime soon...

Yes, I want to see the war too!

I agree, would be very interesting to find out what is going on, and more importantly, who is winning!

I took this from a public forum.

              GhegisFarb talking to Trip:
So, your team's poll and subsequent Declaration of War on GoW isn't of importance..............

Mark my words, we WILL LIBERATE the remnants of the settler you enslaved from us
It might be one of Ghengis Farb's bluffings, but who knows ?

Or it could be the public overflowing of tension, created by a couple of bored teams who want to get into the game early

There must be something going on! The ND wouldn't hold so long the save without a good reason. They always play fast their turn.

                    info from GoW

I have exchanged a couple of emails with Hot Enamel of GoW today... here are two excerpts from what he wrote:

As for info on our boards...................
I will share if you will share.

Rumor has it that Lego has a whole continent...
While ours has erupted into political bum fight.

How the hell this game squeezed 4 civs on our continent is amazing. And 3 of those four squeezed even further to share the top half.

A lot of discussion about war......ND is the largest (they popped a free settler) and because of this, looks like they will be the unlucky nation to be wiped out of the game first.

                    [...]

There is not enough room for 3 teams in the North of our continent.
It is the only place to find good land, and we are all expanding in the same
                    direction.

I know my team would be interested in sending a suicide galley.
If we align them propery, we may be able to meet.

                    Something to think about.....

I thought I would share this info with you. It indirectly suggests that RPers will be forced to go into war sooner or later, to assist ND, helping them to survive... in this light, our GLh deal seems to be unlikely to get signed.

Interesting info Radek, thanks. I wonder if we manage to contact those civs, should we help someone in particular (with tech exchange, I mean) or just wait to see who is wiped out. I'm wondering how the alliances are shaping. No one seems to love ND, but neither the GoW.

Let's wait and see. In the meantime, REX as fast as possible. The others might become desperate enough to send galleys with settlers in them, hoping to win some space.

One more quick thought about REXing. We can expand also with the help of temples (or other cultural improvements), growing our cultural borders.

Edit: Maybe exactly because of this lack of space and possibility of war, the RPs will push their LH project. However, I'm starting to doubt that they will accept the "no-settlings" clause.

Further thoughts: so we now know exactly that there are 4 civs on that continent (probably a big one). If there is one more continent, the GS and Voxes are there (I doubt there could be 2 other continents).

The rumour is correct in that we haven't met anyone else yet, despite some serious efforts, and are stuck alone (currently, we have nowhere we would believe could be a landbridge or at least a shallow water passage to others). So far, we do have room to expand, being a bit lucky with no opposition but LOADS of barbarians, but fear falling behind tech-wise (currently researching Map Making in order to try getting across water to someone else ASAP... but as it seems we are unlikely to be able to build the Great Lighthouse and galleys might not be enough to reach another team). Also, there is much jungle and desert here... good city sites are not plentiful... :-( Hopefully, we are industrious and clearing jungle takes "only" a lot of time, but not forever.

Yep, I have looked at the minimaps and your (south)western coast seems to be close to our northeastern coast - like one or two lucky galley hops. I will tell others and once we are actually able to try contacting you (still a long way to Map Making), I will get back either to you or tell ZargonX, our ambassador, to make the proposal.

I hope you, guys, do not think I lied...
I did my best to give them information that would be true, while not helping them to understand our situation very accurately...

It is amazing that 3 civs are stuck on 1 continent and we have all of Legoland to ourselves. As stated previously we must REX like crazy, but maintain our defensive army.

Once things settle down overthere (in a few hundred years), the remaining civs will surely team together against our might empire.
