  • We need a election for new President soon

Right now I am busy and can no longer be president of the team as i dont have time right now to play turns and do everything else that is need to be a good president, there fore I would like elections to be held as soon as possible and that someone else come foward who has PTW that can play the turn so we always have two people on the list untill new president is elected.

Jack, in 2 days (including today) we are going to close the Constitution ratification poll, and with the new Constitution adopted we will hold new elections.

I'm proposing the following time schedule (in GMT hours):
    - closing the ratification poll: jan. 25, 12AM GMT (the 5 day legal period will be over just before that)
    - nomination phase for President and ministers: 2 1/2 days (jan. 25 12AM - jan. 27 12PM)
    - election polls: jan. 27 12PM- jan. 31 12PM (4 days)

The new President and the ministers will start their term on Feb. 1.

This way we could start the the ministerial terms on the 1st of every month. (and start the election phase one week before that).

Edit: Thank you for being our first President, Jack.

I second your timetable, Tiberius. It looks like a good way to get us on track, and keep the wheels of our Lego government turning.

Of course until the elections, the VP (Vondrack)can/should act as a President if Jack doesn't have the time to play the turns.

well we need anther person to help vondrack out untill new elections. I just dont have the time to do this right now. I just dont have enough time to get on comp and do everything I need to do on the comp to be good president. But I may run in future when I have the time to play again.

Well, in this case Vondrack, as an interim President, should appoint a VP from the ministers.

I believe we can do without a second player for a couple of days (we have been having effectively none for some time anyway...). There should be no time constraints on my side, so hopefully, I will be able to play all the turns up until we elect a new government.

Just as a side note... if I am elected the President, I would be appointing someone with a time zone as different from mine as possible to optimally cover the whole of every day.

In the case of emergency I could play the game but I think Vondrack has it all in hand

I could play it too in case of emergency, even though it would be a big violation of the Constitution, since I'm not a minister

Anyway, Radek, don't you think we should ask Borc to change our "green hours" in the timecounter to accomodate with your sleeping hours? (you are going to be interim President for a week and the most probably President, so why wait?)

Let's wait for the elections. Currently, I usually wake up and have the save in my mailbox waiting... Trip usually sends it between 4-6am GMT. I would ask for the green hours to be something like 0am to 7am GMT anyway and that would not make almost any difference...

Let's wait until we know who the second player will be and then make just one change to the green hours.

I would also be willing to be the back-up player, and I am conveniently located on a different continent!
