  • About not posting in the "Who is going to play our next turn thread?"

    Vondrack and Jack,

I noticed that Vondrack erased the other entries in that thread.

I don't necessarily disagree with that, however, aside from coming here and checking whether new posts have been made, how do you expect us to know that a turn has been played until the Chronicle is updated?

Since I did post in the file and have kept my notification for that thread on, I know when a turn has been played when I check my email. Many times I check my email and if nothing is happening, I surf somewhere else or play a game, so I generally rely on the email to keep me up to date on what is happening. Even more so that I am completely shut out of the forums at work now. and can only check up on things at home.

Perhaps we should allow the players to "sign up" with ONLY one post in that file and then we will all know when a turn has been played. Just a suggestion though.

Sharpe, respectfully, I have no idea about what you are talking about?!?

That thread has been used the same way since it was started... I never deleted any posts from there, just replaced the text in some of them, because only those that play are supposed to post there (AFAIK, you can subscribe to a thread even without actually posting in it).

Can you explain what the problem is, please?

EDIT: I believe I realized what you meant. Just not sure if you experience any "change" in how that thread worked in the past and works now... 'cause I changed nothing and Jack perhaps neither... Howevere, I still believe it is possible to subscribe to a thread without actually posting in it - never tried that myself, but there is a link in the page header saying "Receive updates to this thread". Is that what you need?

Alternatively, I can email anyone asking me to a short notice after I play a turn.

To keep the other thread clean, I'll post here.

I'm quite upset, also, especially that there was nothing to discuss/decide, there were no polls, pending decisions, etc. I also clearly remember that yesterday after seing that we have the save for some hours already, I checked when was Jack last time online, and he was online right then, posting in some other threads!! It was 8 PM GMT, IIRC. Maybe he posted from his office, I don't know, but he could have PMed Vondrack then and let him play the turn. So why didn't you play the turn, Jack?

I am going to play now. And just to let everybody know. This was the last drop. From now on, unless there's something important still being discussed in our forum, I am going to play as soon as the savegame hits my mailbox.
      I agree.

I also support that decision. We are taking too long on turns that should be passed along quite quickly.
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

I don't know if Jack had a problem or not but I agree we should play the turn ASAP if there is nothing to discuss.
