What should we do about the Accelerated Production problem?

It seems that somewhere along the line the Accelerated Production button was tagged on during the first turn

That, unfortunately, explains some of our extremely good stats.

Warrior = 10 Shields normally, yet we have only 2 in production - thus should be 5 turns for warrior, not 3 as it is shown as of our save.

Similarly our tech rate (9 turns to Bronze working at 90 or 100% science) and perhaps even our growth factor (4 turns to size 2) have been similarly enhanced. I am not sure as I have never played accelerated production before.

Notyoueither has indicated (he might know this better than us as he was a beta tester for PTW) that it is possible or even likely that this situation will occur later on in the game anyway.

As builders, does accelerated production help us more than it hurts us or hurts us more than it helps us or neutral?

I'm like you; I don't know enough about accel. production to make a decision. I'll just wait and listen to our other team mates.

What is wrong with accelerated production?? Also if it has already been turned on it is too late.

I proposed in the main forum that we go back to the turn before it was turned on, and just redo the turns following that. I would support leaving it on, but it was decided by everyone to play the game without it. I guess we'll see what the general consensus is.

The decision is will be made on the main forum. All the civs need to determine how to proceed.

I just want to keep this map. We have a good starting position(close to great). We have the Betsy the cow, grasslands, hills, and we are at the equator.

              I don't like accelerated production.

To be honest, realizing the accelerated production was on was kind of an unpleasant surprise for me at first. But considering the context, I have changed my mind and now I believe we should keep it on. The game is going to last for quite some time and with the AP on, the pace will be quicker and the game (IMHO) more interesting.

Besides, as others pointed out, our starting location is almost perfect and the AP only contributes to it... we might not be that lucky next time.

EDIT: after reading the thread in the main (public) PtW forum and finding out the AP was on by mistake or bug, I guess it should be fixed to whatever it was supposed to be prior to launching the game. The first few teams did not know the AP would be on, which is unfair.

Reject it. Several teams did not have it this turn, so we should go back and turn it off.

Of course, it sounds like there's another issue: we're on regent. But that seems to go back to the very beginning of the game, so that's a little different.

I think that this has a lot to do with the instructions given on loading the PBEM game, and someone messed with the settings. I just want to get this game going, more delays will only make it go longer.

This is done already. The savegame should have arrived in the meantime to Vondrack, for replaying the first turn.

OK, we may consider this thread closed for all practical purposes. I have replayed our turn and sent the save to Gathering Storm. AP is off. See my post in the "We have a problem" thread in the main PtWDG forum for more comments on what the problem was.
