  • Master Builder + Head Engineer ? (real thread)

Thinking about the responsibilities of the minsiters (for the Constitution) I reached the following conclusion: The Master Builder's and Head Engineer's responsibilities are so interdependent that the 2 position should be merged in only one. The new position would be the Master Builder: Interior and Development Minister.

    To explain the choises:
    1. Quite obvious: merge them and this is it
    2. Merge them, but only for the early ages. Later, if the situation requires it, we may spilt them up
    3. We don't merge them but make the Head Engineer a deputy minister, appointed by the Master Builder if and when he wants to (when he gets overloaded with work, etc)
    4. No, leave them as they are
    5. Banana

    Yes, great idea!

Yes, but only for the early ages. We could split them up later, if necessary.

No, we should keep the Head Engineer, but only as a deputy minister appointed by the Master Builder

No, bad idea. Keep them separate.

    I don't really care. I'd rather eat a banana.

PS Isn't hilarious that the poll poster voted no? I voted 3, which is not really a merge but still close to it.

I agree with you. It's sorta like the Prez and VP: they need to work together, so why not have one appoint the other?

Yep. I'm a trendsetter for once.

Have them together early on, then when the Master builder starts to feel overwelmed a head engineer should be elected, at least by the Middle ages.

I'm in favor of merging them initially, then splitting them when we have multiple cities and workers to deal with. That seems to make the most sense.

This is needed for the Constitution, so please vote!

I propose 3 more days and after that we should close it, with whatever results it may have.

Considering the institute of Deputy Ministers we have just incorporated into the Constitution draft... what about leaving this to the Master Builder? Should he feel he needs someone to whip the workers for him, then he would appoint a Deputy Minister (with a special add-on title of Head Engineer). Fits nicely into the currently proposed system, I think...

Souns very good to me, since this was my idea from the beginning. But seeing that so many people actually want a Head Engineer Minister ....

Radek, I think I'll follow your advice. Since this latest modification in the Constitution draft allows us flexibility, I'll skip this Head Engineer issue.
