  • 1265 Ad press release - feel free to add stuff

OK I think we need a new press release now, this battle is too much of an opportunity to pass up. Heres what I want to cover:

-Counter the Pirate factory story (argghh!! she be landlocked)

-Hints of new ally (The forest are alive!!!)*

-Report on te new Great Leader*

-General War report (Legoland pows GOW)

-Mass evacuation of Tipperary (Its a long way from...)*

    -General civilian interest/propaganda story

I think that covers it. If anybody as any other ideas submit them here within five days. Those stories with a asterisk are at the rest of the teams disgression, I won't include them if there are any concerns in terms of secrecy or certainly delay them for the next issue.

Just one thing - be so kind and post only after GoW plays their turn. Maybe do it in parts. Tipperary after we pass the save to GS... rest (even the forest part) only after GS passes the save to ND. We do not want GS to have an idea what happened to GoW in the East. And we do not want to give them hints or draw their attention to our new forests...

Thats fine, I was quite willing stagger things and I did relise there were certain things we want to keep secret. Definately no where near a finshed paper and I'll check each story with you at any rate. I assume the Great leader will be in the battle report?

Yes, the GL needs to be reported (not that GS could miss that infantry army in Abilene anyway...).

          GOW invaders hit the wall
Legoland puts the Ow!!! in GOW

Today, Legoland can feel jubilant today after the great success of the Nation first battle on land. The battle situated on the coast between Dye fields and Jackson has resulted in a severe decapitation of GOW’s Armoured Calvary and heavy loses on its Infantry forces.

The battle began with a round of heavy bombardment from bombers and artillery surrounding the hundreds of thousands of enemy soldiers camped upon Omaha Beach. This barage was then followed by a mass assault by the 1st Armoured Calvary Army lead by Grand General ____ who routed the already weathered GOW Camp of Doom leading to huge casualties not yet seen within a single battle in history.

One witnesses to the battle described “At first, bombs darked the skies like the shadow of an eclipse and then the explosions roared like thunder and burned the sky with the brightness of a 100 million light bulbs for what seemed liked a thousand years. Then all a sudden silence washed across the battlefield like a tsunami. Minutes later, a stange mechanical sound could be from the distance as a sea of tanks approached and soon again the silence replaced by the multitude of explosions. Bullets, shells limbs and rocks were flying every like a swarm of locusts. It seemed like a holiday in the depths of hell.”

Critics suggested this was a case of gross over exaggeration and pointed out that these were probably the same sort of people who claimed that GOW bombers killed one hundred million billion Jackson residents. Cultural analyst were quick to point out that GOW was prone to exaggeration and they have been known to use binary as the numbers look way more impressive. Calculations suggest this is true as one followed by 17 zeros (One hundred million billion) in binary comes to about 130,000 matching our own estimates.

Numbers of casualties for the battle ares still unknown but estimates suggest that 100,000 of our soldiers lost their lives within the battle and a minium of 500,000 (or approx. 1000 million billion for GOW) soldiers in total died in another great battle in the growing list of Legoland’s victories.

This is a very good one. I like the binary math piece - great idea. I will try adding few bits myself later today or tomorrow.

I like this one a lot!

Yeah I also got a speech written, unsure on how to use it:
“Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, today the people of Legoland have proven themselves to be able to raise an effective fighting force. Those that oppose saw us, they came but they have yet to conquered us!! This battle has shown that Legoland lives up to its name – despite history we have shown ourselves to be adaptable and capable of rapid change - like Lego our culture is not set in cement. However, we must not be too confident yet for there are still many battles and it will be hard and tiring and the cost will be great. There are many that oppose us or do not believe in us and thus we have much to prove but remember this – we will continue to fight them on the land, we will fight them in the air and on the seas. We will battle onward in the trenches, on mountains and on the fields, we will never surrender, not at any cost. Our children and our kittens and our pet rocks depend on us, as do our principles.
May the Mother Brick be there with us in this darkest of hours!!

I was thinking to add something to this, not sure though how to include it in the big article:

I would call the batthe as the Battle of the Dye Fields, and add something along the lines that GoW will remember it instead as the Battle of the Die Fields. Or maybe use the idea that the GoW soldiers cannot read and they thought the place is called Die Fields, which scared the sh!t out of them.

                Otherwise nice article !
