  • September Cabinet Nominations

IIRC, we kept August a one-month term. So, what's our line-up next?

    Turnplayers: ZargonX and Vondrack
    Master Builder: Kloreep
    Military Architect: ZargonX
    Foreign Affairs Minister: Vondrack
    Enlightened: Sharpe

I will run for MB, but I can't promise to be around as much as previously, so I'd encourage anyone who wants to run against me to do so.

If I might make a revolutionary suggestion: I think we ought to do away with the President and Vice-President positions. I think we ought to just have a triumvirate of turn players, with no distinction between them. As fun as being President is, with so few active members, it seems kind of silly to keep the power structure as is. The ministers do their job, the turns get played, everyone is happy, right?

I think I like Zargon's suggestion. Yes, I do. Aside from playing turns, Prez and VP have had no special powers nor obligations anyway. And signing our treaties and public announcements as "The Senate of Legoland" is kinda cool. Cooler than signing them ZargonX or vondrack...

If we go this way, I'd like to remain the FAM and one of the turn players.

If we do decide to go with my proposal, I would like to remain as a turn player, and make a run for Military Architect

            Fine with me.

I do not plan to run for any position. I'll just be a blue collar builder. I have 3 sons serving in the military and I want them back alive.

Dissolving the Prez & VP into general turnplayer positions sounds good.

I would be interested in running for Enlightened - the other posts involve too much work for me right now ...

Good suggestion re abolishing the President and VP positions Zargon.

I absolutely agree that the Senate deserves much much more involvement than it seems to have had recently (i.e. no votes and not much discussion) and as such these ministerial positions should be viewed as making suggestions for discussion for the Senate - and see what suggested changes or other alternatives arise from that discussion (if any).

BTW - I suggest we wait two more days before we finalize the government. Tiberius is coming back from vacations this weekend.

What does FAM do exactly? I might consider running.

Well its the Foreign Minister.... just a fancy title. Basically what happens is we all discuss what we want to happen and make our decisions.... then ZargonX plays the turn whatever way he wants

Its a rollercoaster ride in Lego

On a serious note... NM, I would suggest that you stay just a regular Senate member for this first term (or at least, choose a different position than FAM). It will take you some time to get the feel of what's going on here - and a lot of reading, I think.

It's not that I'm running for FAM, too - and would be trying to get rid of other candidates... But being the FAM means you have to very well know what's going on, as you are basically the primary negotiator and usually also the primary contact with other teams. That requires you to be perfectly aware of everything that happened in the past, is happening at the moment, and is expected to happen in the future.

I know I will dissappoint those who were hoping that finally we will have real elections , but I don't mind letting Sharpe be Enlightened. Being right after my vacation I have a lot of work to do and I'm not sure I could handle any official position ATM. For the next elections, well, that's a diferent story

NM, it doesn't matter actually too much who is in what position. The only thing a minister gets is more work Your opinion as a simple Senate member is just as important as a minister's voice, that I (we) can guarantee.

I'm afraid I must resign (or withdraw, whatever) from MB. I simply don't seem to get around to plans fast enough. I'll still offer my opinions when I can, but I don't think I can fulfill what I see as the MB responsibilities this term.
