  • War Weariness

For those of you that haven't heard, as of the 1.21 patch, war weariness has been reinstated in PBEM play. No one has quite come to agreement as to whether it is as severe as in SP, but it's there nonetheless.

This, I think, is advantageous for us in terms of defense. Invading us is sure to be a lengthy proposition for whomever is doing it, and as long as we are attacked, and not attacking, we will not take as big a WW hit. People invading us are likely to fall into complete disorder before they really have a chance to deal us much damage (esp. if we have Bach and Sistene ).

This is also good news in the GS situation, as if they decide to go on the offensive in Bob, they will suffer these same problems. Now, if GoW and ND can mop up RP relatively expediently, things could actually remain stable. But, we shall see, I guess...

Except that the Religious civs now have a serious advantage in offensive war over the non-religious civs as they can switch to Monarchy within one turn if they think that they will run into WW problems.

Since RP and GS are both religious, while only ND is religious on the other side - I would say that the advantage might be on the GS-RP side.

BTW, since we mistakenly have two threads with the exact same name , perhaps we should close my earlier one that is further down on page 1.

D'oh... I forgot RP was religious also... hmmm... well, the monarchy switch is useful, but at least it will keep people from waging long wars in Rep. (or even Democracy, eventually)

Then we have to either fight our wars away from Lego (on Bob) and hope to hell we can keep the people happy ..... or do our best to stop this war and to avoid others happening...

.... unless of course we are content to sit back for the rest of the game and hope noone becomes dominant.

Actually I would almost want all of the warring religious civs to switch to Monarchy - gives us an advantage in commerce and a very slight one in corruption over them...
