I dont normally open the save that I get from ND, but as we are getting closer to war...I figured I would have a quick look.

    *** Poof ***

    - Gone -

    *** Poof #2 ****

    Back again

The only thing I did, was to move our galley 3 spaces down the GS West Coast.
I see two undefended GS cities

We may be able to take out Monsoon with no fight.

As The Galley moved down, 4 Voxian units can be seen on the hill I have marked with an X.

GS will also see these units, so I see no reason not to send the above pic to GS.

If we land a horseman at point A we could probably take out Monsoon.

When we land, we will have to tell GS that we are using the horseman as a diversion..and we want them to squeal like pigs on the forum. We are forcing them to be apart of our evil plans that they previously refused to be a part of. They could say a lot of things in the main forum...but who really cares....it means nothing.

Who knows, maybe they will be so pissed, that they tell ND of our "diversion". Again...who cares, and if they do, it is probably a good reason for us to actually declare war.

Hopefully they wont attack our horseman, and we get a free shot at Monsoon on our next turn.

Now, the question is....do we want to blow our cover now for a useless 1 pop city that GS arent even bothering to defend ? or do we skip the whole idea and continue sailing ?

To tell you the truth...I would probably keep sailing.

    { Removed by Hot_Enamel - Will replace after GF posted that he has moved }

    Back -

Hmmm.... HE, I don't think we can use any of this info unless the moves you made are the same ones that GF does. Anyway, if we land at A, I would bet that we would see at least a spear in each city before we could attack. If this is GF plan, we keep sailing...

We need to make sure that GF does not see this before he makes his move. I'm going to start a new thread to say to GF "Don't look at the 650bc thread" until you decide where to move, or it could be cheating."

        Sorry guys....

Unless I have completely misunderstood our plans...I thought we were going to sail down the west coast looking for a landing spot that we can take out resources....Pillage basically.

I loaded the save, and moved the galley which is what I would expect GF to do.

As the turn is normally played after I hit the sack, I thought I would add my suggestion now.

Unless our plans have dramatically changed..I saw no harm...I appoligise completely, and will comply with any punishment you agree upon.

I think we should land a Horseman to threaten the GS city on the Hilltop. Just to get them to scream Bloody Murder. Then load up back up on the boat the following turn. All we would do is auto-raze Monsoon. Then let GS know the only reason we did it was to get them to scream.

Don't worry HE. No punishment will be needed. You are completely correct in that is what GF was most likely to do (and it was even planned), however, the problem occurs if you were to spot something that might change those planes. GF is given the power to act accordingly and immediatly to new information as turnchats are not very likely...
I would even say to continue doing what you did, just stop yourself if you come accross some big news (like an undefended city or resourse). The only other thing, is just don't post screenies or comments about it until you get up (yeah, I know that would suck, but you have to have some kinda drawback to living downunder ....lucky bastard!!! )

I think we should actually autoraze it given the opportunity, personally. Landing the horse is going to give us away anyway, GS now has galleys that can move 4 turns and may attack our boats if they know they are carrying units. Tell Vox to go for the inland city, we'll take the 2 coast and at least break up the defenders.

I have been out of it for a while, GS still believes this is a survey mission anyway, right? Landing units will already give the real reasons away. If we do it, we go through it all the way. Ill bet they may even re-deploy from that inner city to defend monsoon. That is the point of 3-tile building, anyway.

The other option is to wait one more turn and unload both horse next turn to threaten both Monsoon and whatever is to the south there.

Inland, there, looks like they have at least one city on a hill with walls and likely pikes defending. Vox will even have a rough time with that. Especially with only regular troops...do we know where the rest of their forces are?

Look at it this way: Vox has two major options

                1) Getting at the heart of GS and bypassing any useless cities. That means that Vox would have to slog it out against the most well defended GS cities but in the end this will cause the most damage to GS

                2) Taking the easy ones, every city taken though perhaps meaningless in the short run is a big hit to GS in the long run. They may be able to bypass the heavily fortified cities and just rape and pillage their way through the heart of the storm.

If I were Vox I'd do a combination of both, simply bypassing the most heaviliy defended cities if there's an easier way to cause damage. Leaving GS a wreck is just as effective as actually conquering it. Make it a vassal state...

I prefer UnOrthO's idea of moving another turn and then plopping both Horsemen off in one spot. Not taking this opportunity may give GS a false sense of security.

And taking out their Iron would be far more damaging than autorazing an undefended city on the front with Vox.

Played the turn and DID NOT land any Horsemen.

Left this message in the Saved Game thread:

Sorry it took so long, decisions decisions. So many undefended cities, so little time.
Maybe GS will take that as an act of war and scream about it before they get their turn and realize we didn't actually do anything.

I am sitting here in mIRC with Shiber... he said that our horse are dead. Did you land the horses sometime since you posted this?

Did they sink our galley ?

Or was he just seeing what your reaction would be ?

They would have to sink the galley to kill the Horsemen, which would be an act of war.

He told me that he has a saved log that said you (GF) landed on little bob.

Perhaps it was a ploy to get me to reveal what is on the galley. He stated two horse landed but I never acknowledged it. I did say latter that it was my horse and left it singular, so even if they were trying to guess the contents of our Galley, they would still be confused...

Yes we insinuated we had invaded them and were going to raze their undefended cities in the hopes that they would scream about us attacking them in the main forum but they didn't believe us.
