We have 5 Spearmen that we can upgrade to Pikemen this turn for 100 gold.

Should I rush a Horseman in Trafalgar at the cost of one pop point before revolt next turn?

Do we want to go for Republic or Monarchy?

Republic means more commerce and lower corruption but no free support units and units can't be used as police forces.

More commerce more than compensates for less unit support; the question is can we compensate for the no police forces? I think that we can - we have many things to keep us going:

1. The difficulty level. Its really easy to keep your citizens happy at lower difficulty levels.
2. Our luxuries. With two luxuries, the inner cities with a temple can reach size 7.
3. The luxury slider. It is an overlooked strategy; and with the commerce bonus of Republic, it would be very powerful.

Therefore, my answers to the questions:
Upgrade pikes.
Rush horse.
Republic.

Sorry Yep ...

Medievil Infantry now..not swords.

They will be no good for our long distance campaign, but they can be parked in our border cities for counter offensive if we are attacked.

Plus...I would rather do it now, while we have iron.

We need money for our horsemen -> rider upgrades.
Money is what we need....therefore Republic.

(Assuming the boost in commerce outweighs the free unit savings in Monarchy)

We definately do not want to change governemnets too often..so republic now.

Okay upgraded the five Spearmen, started the warriors back towards the main cities, rushed the Horseman in Trafalgar (next turn we will have nine Horsemen).

With all units costing upkeep, maybe we should think about our slave trade options (like the one I suggested with lego). As the game progresses, I am thinking Vox or ND would be the better choice...

Out of those 9, how many are "on the water" ?

There is certainly a good chance that we will lose most of them, if they have to go in early and attempt to do resource denial.

We have to go republic...max science to Chivalry...max horseman builds inbetween.
