  • 1275 BC - Talk about a mess

Alright, have the 1275 save and have forwarded it to everyone. Talk about a diplomatic mess.

All these deals coming in from everyone and not necessarily in the order we want. We definitely get ND's map which pretty much shows us all of Bob.

Should I move the northern galley back towards Trafalgar to haul more Colonials to the future Ivory Republic?

    Any other comments/suggestions?

Will allow time for members to load up the save and check it out before I play the turn and send on.

I think we should build a third boat to map GSVoxia (Little Bob) and then send one of the Colonial Fleet's ships to Legos to map it.

Moved the galley to the landmass to the west and let the Spearman off to have a look, the Lego ship was blocking our path south.

Discovered a goody hut and a barbarian camp this turn.
We got Literature from ND and Philosophy from Lego, Roleplay didn't agree to the deal so we wouldn't have been able to go through with Lego's deal if it hadn't been for ND.

Resent Vox Mapmaking for 40 gold.
Sent GS an offer for Lego.
Sent deal to Roleplay, will see if they accept it or not.
Moved two workers onto Iron resource so that they can connect in next turn.

21 turns until completion of Construction. We currently have 240 gold.

My vote is no to the colony idea right now, though I do see the potential value if that is what is decided. I would prefer another productive city in the north at this point.

Sending a colony south only has the potential of pissing of ND and RP right now. ND because their 'safety net' is the Iron trade we have set up, and RP because they mistakenly believe they should own the entire southern half of Bob and will get agitated at the mere sight of even an empty ship.

Perhaps map than land we can see.
If it is an island, it may have iron.

If it is Lego, turn around, and .....I dont know ? Decide that one later

It has no potential of pissing ND off, they are planning on doing the same thing. Roleplay has half the continent claimed and must realistically expect other civs to colonize there. The question is whether we act now and get territory with assets in it or act later and get territory with squat in it.

Can we defend it from RP? How many turns will it take to reach? And once established, How many turns to build a temple, worker, and Harbor down there? If it is not even going to be running in the next 50 turns, say, do we really want to send a settler that could otherwise be used to be productive up north?

There aren't many sites left up north and those won't take long to reach. By the time our boats reach the south we will probably have already founded the northern cities. Key city sites include 3 more spots up north but our border agreement with ND insures that those sites are safe. I see founding two cities in the direction of Vox to secure the spice and wine as the first priority. Those settlers will most likely come from Dreadnoughtica.

A city there would have the added possibilty of creating a culture flip to us if a more distant civ took other locations on the island. Let's ship in a worker from the mainland, and when the main continent is full, let's send more workers to increase the population if we want a quick harbor. We will probably get more milage out of a library than a temple.
