I dont like it, but if we insist, then lets settle on a plan.

They wont believe that we are doing this as a staging point for a war against ND. We are better located to fight from the North, and RP from the South.

They "may" believe that we have settled it for the iron, although its going to take many rounds for a harbor to be built and/or roads. This is going to be ard to sell to RP.

We want the war against RP to be a surprise.
Any warning, or a cooling of relations, will result in them buying allies (Vox or GS who are our neighbours not ND).

We must sell them a reason for the site that they will believe. And I dont know how to do that.

If we say it was for iron, they will ask why we didnt just ask them for some. They can build a harbour and roads faster than us.

Maybe the only way we could get away with it, is if we offer to gift the city to them once ND has been eliminated. We will get ND's iron, so it is no longer needed.

But I cant see them buying it.

I hate to say it, but I would rather look at than landmass where Lego came from first.
From their PM's they indicate they have island hopped over to us. Investigate the island for iron first is my opinion.

I do believe that when war is declared, we will lose the city. If anything, its only benifit would be to take units away from the ND-RP border. They will post spies along its border to ensure we are not loading it up with more troops.

It may make ND's invasion easier, but we are sure to lose the city.

What we tell them the truth, we wanted to gain Ivory luxury resources to barter with and an Iron resource. They have to know there is no way they are going to be able to settle the entire area before other civs start plopping down cities.
