  • Trade System.

We need to set a system with what we can and cannot trade so that what happened this morning (we lost Ceremonial Burial because another civ negotiated to trade Masonry before us) doesn't happen again.

Can we have limits on what we consider tradeable:

    Authorized to trade:
Current Treasury (or set a max limit of Treasury)
Gold Per Turn (currently a max of 0)
    Techs:
    Masonry

    Trade for:
    Ceremonial Burial
    Military Techs
Alphabet (the tree towards Literacy (the Great Library))

Something like that so we can make quick offers and counter offers and hopefully beat other civs to the trades. This way if the assigned diplomat isn't availabe it won't give another civ the edge because we can't trade.

I think something like this would work very well...however as humans, we should be able to structure our deals a little beyond than normal civ constraints.

ie..ask for directions to other civs
Offer non-agression pacts longer or shorter than 20 turns.
Ask for info like..what tech are they studying..and how long before they get it.
What luxeries and territory resources do they have available.

      etc etc etc

Based on the Democracy game I suspect that the other teams would be willing to pay a premium for luxuries. At Emporer level (which they're playing at I've sometimes found prices exhorbidant - its cheaper to move the luxury slider, but there's no discussion of that in the forums.
